Coming off an 8-9 season last year Coach Christopher Maxon Christopher Maxon 6'2" | CG Fort Pierce Central | 2025 State FL will be entering his 10th season as the Head Coach and has high expectations for this upcoming season. Let’s take a deeper dive into the roster of this talented group:
The Cobras return junior guard Aaron Delince and Josh Williams along with seniors Deandre Webster, Travis King Travis King 6'2" | CG Trinity Christian | 2022 State FL , Sami Rahman, Ladevon Blackshear, Aaron McLeod and and Berlain Colas. Perhaps the biggest additions to the program will be 3 freshmen not only joining the team but all 3 starting on the Varsity squad. Christopher and Christian Maxon Christian Maxon 6'2" | CG Fort Pierce Central | 2025 State FL along with Josh Banate Josh Banate 6'0" | CG Fort Pierce Central | 2025 FL are no strangers to each other as they have been playing travel basketball together for several years. This loaded roster should provide for a very exciting season ahead as they will be playing at a fast pace with a focus on beating teams in transition and playing solid defense. Coach Maxon can do a lot of different things with this roster and has several players that are amongst some of the best shooters in the area. I am excited to see what this season holds for this group some players I expect to have a big season are as follows:
CHRISTOPHER MAXON CHRISTOPHER MAXON 6'1" | PG Fort Pierce Central | 2024 FL – A knockdown shooter who plays hard on both ends of the floor. Can get hot in a hurry and is a strong finisher at the basket. Moves great without the ball and can play multiple positions.
Christian Maxon Christian Maxon 6'2" | CG Fort Pierce Central | 2025 State FL – Has a chance to be one of the top scorers in the area. Very consistent from beyond the arc. High basketball IQ to make sound decisions and someone you want to have the ball in pressure situations.
Travis King Travis King 6'2" | CG Trinity Christian | 2022 State FL – Big man who has solid footwork and will be one of the top rebounders in the area. Does a nice job setting screens and diving to the basket. Will be a matchup problem for the opposing teams he will face this season.
Sami Rahman – Combo guard who can do it all and will be the backbone for this group this upcoming season. Plays with high energy and gets to the rim with ease.
Josh Banate Josh Banate 6'0" | CG Fort Pierce Central | 2025 FL – Standout freshman who is a lockdown defender with an evolving game on the offensive side of the floor. Versatile player who gives you everything he has when he is on the court. Lots of upside with this young man!
Derrick King – 6’6 sophomore wing that can score from all over the court. Evolving outside shot making it tough to defend due to his high release. Growing into a very solid player overall just scratching the surface of his potential.
Joshua Williams Joshua Williams 5'11" | PG Fort Pierce Central | 2023 FL – Plays with one of the best motors I have seen. Goes hard every possession brings a ton of energy to the floor and has a very quick first step. Very athletic and someone you want on your team as he is tough to defend against.
Aaron Delince – Quick guard with speed to get to where he needs to get to on the floor. Above average defender who has a nice overall balance to his game. One of the top leading scorers from the team last season.
Overall I expect this team to compete for a District title as they have a lot of pieces that can really do some damage on the court to the opposing team. Some games to keep an eye on will be 12/7 against Martin County, 12/14 against Treasure Coast High School, 1/5 against Vero Beach and 1/19 against Jupiter. This will be a fun team to watch who I believe will be amongst one of the top scoring teams in the area. We wish Coach Maxon, his entire coaching staff and team a great season ahead!
