Prep Hoops Predictions:
1.Dorman HS – The Cavaliers just rebuild and reload every year. Can they make it back to the state championship ?
2.Riverside HS – The Warriors will be battling all year long for the top spot. The Warriors have plenty of talent to knock off anyone on a given night. Very talented team.
3.Byrnes HS – The Rebels are a very scrappy bunch and NEVER count them out of anything when Head Coach Layne Fowler is in charge.
4.Wade Hampton HS (Greenville) – The Generals look to make some noise this season with some senior leadership.
5.Spartanburg HS – Josh Linder Josh Linder 6'8" | PF Spartanburg | 2022 State SC had a bit of coming out party this summer on the Grassroots Circuit. Will it carry over for the Vikings ?
Noah Clowney Noah Clowney 6'10" | PF Dorman | 2022 State #78 Nation SC (2022) – Dorman HS – Prep Hoops Preseason Region Player of the Year
Clowney is ranked #1 in the Palmetto State and headed off to the University of Alabama next season.
Jordyn Surratt Jordyn Surratt 6'6" | SF Dorman | 2022 State SC (2022) – Dorman HS (pictured on front)
Surratt will stay close to home to play at USC-Upstate next fall.
Ryan Hawkins Ryan Hawkins 6'4" | SF Dorman | 2022 State SC (2022) – Dorman HS
Hawkins has added some weight and gotten stronger this off season for the Cavaliers. Hawkins will fight for minutes on this very talented roster this coming year.
Pharrell Boyogueno Pharrell Boyogueno 6'6" | SF Riverside | 2022 State SC (2022) – Riverside HS
Boyogueno brings a blue-collar mentality to the floor at times and the versatility to play inside-out on the floor.
Donovan Soriano Donovan Soriano 6'3" | SG Riverside | 2022 State SC (2022) – Riverside HS
Soriano was hurt this summer when we watched the Warriors play. Donovan has the ability to knockdown shots and be in the right place on the floor to make plays.
Charlie Myers Charlie Myers 6'8" | PF Riverside | 2022 State SC (2022) – Riverside HS
Myers is a deceptive athlete who can move around the paint. Charlie will challenge and alter shots from time to time with his good length.
Chris Abercrombie Chris Abercrombie 6'1" | CG Wade Hampton | 2022 State SC (2022) – Wade Hampton HS
Abercrombie really made some noises this summer with his play for the Generals. Chris won’t backdown from a challenge with his grit and toughness.
Naseem Mayes Naseem Mayes 6'7" | SF Wade Hampton | 2022 State SC (2022) – Wade Hampton HS
Mayes is a welcome addition to the Generals roster this season. Naseem played last year at The Rock (Gainesville, FL) after attending Eastside HS prior to that. Mayes a left-handed forward doesn’t mind facing up or posting up down low.
Jesse Singh Jesse Singh 6'5" | PF Byrnes | 2022 State SC (2022) – Byrnes HS
Singh is a magnet for the ball and always seems to do the little things for the Rebels. Jesse can hit the open jumper, rundown a rebound or take a charge. Singh is a great team player night in and night out.
Josh Linder Josh Linder 6'8" | PF Spartanburg | 2022 State SC (2022) – Spartanburg HS
Linder had a strong summer on the Grassroots Circuit. Josh a left-handed floor is a quick leaper with a nice long wingspan. Linder still must polish up his offensive skills runs the floor very well and finishes in transition.
John Kurkis John Kurkis 6'6" | SF Spartanburg | 2022 State SC (2022) – Spartanburg HS
Will he play this year ? Was out with a ACL this summer.
