He’s done so far this summer and fall and has risen to the occasion at every opportunity. So when the bouncy 6-foot-2 combo guard from Benson had the chance to come out to the PrepHoops Top 250 Expo, he jumped at the chance – and more than cemented his status as one of the state’s top players.
“It was a great experience – there was some great competition there and some great players,” Bradford said. “It was fun. I just looked to get other people open more and that helped me get open. Getting everyone else involved makes everything easier for me.”
At the Expo, Bradford certainly showed the ability to score, especially utilizing his athleticism to finish creatively around the hoop. But his floor leadership, passing, and creating off the dribble for others is what made things a special experience for himself and others. He’s been a busy young man this fall, having come to the PrepHoops event not long after participating in the Prime Time Top 40 Showcase.
“That was also a great experience with some great players from out of town as well as in-town,” Bradford said. “It was nice to see the Top 40 players in this area. Overall, I feel like I did pretty good although I could have done a little bit better.”
The fall follows what was a solid summer for Bradford as he spent a lot of time playing with a 16U squad with the Oregon Prospects. It was a new experience for him in one major way. “The summer was fun and there were two big tournaments with a lot of college coaches at both of them,” Bradford said. “I’d never played in front of that many coaches before.”
While Bradford has gotten some calls here and there from all levels from D-I to JUCO, he notes that nothing is particularly serious at the moment and things with his recruitment are still very much in development and open. As a result, he’s turning his focus to his junior season at Benson which he has high hopes for.
“We have great potential and this past month we’ve been working hard,” Bradford said. “We just started working out after school and in the mornings. The sky’s the limit for us.”
Bradford currently ranks as the #4 ranked player in the PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2023 rankings.
