Today is a day to take a step back and enjoy the fruits of that hard work. From the moment they pick up a ball. players dream of the opportunity to live out their one shining moment. That all starts with signing their National Letter of Intent. Let’s take a look at some local players who signed theirs this week.
Joshua Jefferson Joshua Jefferson 6'8" | PF Liberty | 2022 State #158 Nation NV 6’6 PF Liberty (#2PHN 2022) (featured image) – The forward will be continuing his career in Northern Cali. Jefferson has committed to St Mary’s University and will be signing on the 10th of November.
scouts take: The Gales are getting a high IQ player that can help them score the basketball down low. Jefferson is a good post player with an established back-to-the-basket game.
Kenyon Giles Kenyon Giles 5'10" | PG Silverado | 2022 State NV 5’10 PG Silverado (#6PHN 2022) – The Virginia transfer has committed to Radford. He will be signing his NLI on November 10th at Silverado.
scouts take: Radford will be getting a dynamic scoring guard capable of lighting up the scoreboard with his quickness, pull-up jumper, and knock-down 3 point shooting ability.
Ryan Abelman Ryan Abelman 6'4" | SG Bishop Gorman | 2022 State NV 6’4 SG Bishop Gorman (#7PHN 2022) – The sharpshooter will take his 3 point stroke to Northern Arizona next year. The senior guard will be signing on November 10th
scouts take: His signature skill of shooting should translate well. Abelman has grown over the past few seasons from a strictly spot-up shooter to a guy capable of putting the ball down and making a play for himself.
Isaiah Carr Isaiah Carr 6'11" | C Las Cruces | 2022 State NM 6’11 C Las Cruces 2022 (#1PHNM 2022) – The big man from Las Cruces will be bringing his rim protection and shot-blocking expertise to the defending Wac Champions Antelopes.
scouts take: Size and length are at a premium and Carr has that. He’s an elite shot-blocker with exceptional timing. He will be signing on Friday and is a big-time pick-up for coach Drew.
Milos Uzan 6’4 PG Dream City Christian (AZ) (#7PHA 2022) – The PG who is originally from Las Vegas will be following in the footsteps of former Vegas star Jalen Hill and heading to Norman, Oklahoma to play for the Sooners.
scouts take: Winning PG who understands time score and situation. Uzan, speed, handle, and passing should fit right in with the Sooners style of play.
Chris Dockery 6’6 SF Middlebrooks Academy – Super happy for Dockery. He has come a long way from a terrible injury a few years ago. Now at Middlebrooks, the wing will be extending his career at Weber St, signing his NLI today.
scouts take: Athletic slasher that can get out and finish in transition. Dockery plays above the rim and can impact the game with his energy and transition scoring.
