Recent commitments prior to OHSAA season

During the past couple weeks we’ve seen numerous recruits announce where they are committed to playing college basketball next season. First up was Drey Carter Drey Carter 6'8" | PF Westerville South | 2022 State OH who committed to Wright State. After blowing up this summer, Carter had plenty of options to play in college and decides to stay in state. Next was Sean Craig Sean Craig 6'6" | PF Sylvania Northview | 2022 State OH who committed to the University of Indianapolis. Craig commits to the NAIA program despite holding a Division I offer from St Francis (PA). Caleb Laurich Caleb Laurich 6'7" | C Copley | 2022 State OH committed to Ohio Dominican, Laurich is one of the best rebounders in the state. Sharpshooting wing guard Ryan Paris Ryan Paris 6'4" | SG Hilliard Davidson | 2022 State OH committed to IU South Bend a couple days ago. Paris could have a huge senior season next to Jayden Nervis Jayden Nervis 6'6" | PF Hilliard Davidson | 2022 State OH at Hilliard Davidson. Finally, Chris Mitchell Chris Mitchell 6'5" | SF Bexley | 2022 State OH from Bexley committed to Ashland. Mitchell was off the radar heading into this fall but impressed at multiple 270 hoops events and will be playing at the Division II level next season.
It will be interesting to follow the commitments of the rest of Ohio’s 2022 class. Currently 6 of the top 20 prospects are still uncommitted as of writing this article. Division II, NAIA, Division III and JUCO programs have started to get some commitments, but will likely pick up during the winter.
