For Logan Jackson Logan Jackson 6'7" | PF Hillsboro | 2022 State OR , he undoubtedly appreciated it all. The versatile 6-foot-7, 200-pound forward from Hillsboro ran with International Elite during the spring and summer months and as he picked up college interest along the way, he felt it really prepared him for his senior season.
“It was a great experience and a good bunch of guys,” Jackson said. “The coaching staff was amazing and they taught us a lot about how to play smooth at a fast pace and how to move the ball freely and make it nice and clean. I feel like I played pretty well. It was a little hard to get adjusted to at the beginning but once I did it was smooth rolling from there.”
Jackson is a player who has the ability to scored inside but also face up and knock down shots. He felt he was able to showcase that in the tournaments he played with International Elite.
“The parts of my game I felt worked really well throughout AAU were my shooting ability and my passing,” Jackson said. “I’m trying to improve my ball-handling and footspeed a lot more so I can play on the inside and out in the same capacity each way.”
College programs took notice. Jackson indicated that he’s heard from levels from the JC ranks all the way up to Division I. Whitworth has offered the high-academic student a roster spot and Lane CC has offered a scholarship. He’s visited both of those schools as well as Seattle Pacific, Northwest Nazarene, and Blue Mountain CC.
With interest coming from a number of different places, Jackson described how he’s breaking things down. “I’m looking for something kind of more local,” Jackson said. “But if they show high interest in me and it’s the right fit for me and my game, I’ll play anywhere.”
Jackson hopes to play the season out before making any kind of decisions. He’s excited about his final year of high school basketball. “We have a really strong team and a bunch of young guys that have a lot of potential,” Jackson said. “I wish I had one more year with some of these guys because they’re going to be something special in a few years. But I feel like we can make it to the playoffs and get really far there.”
Jackson currently ranks as the #52 ranked player in the recently updated PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2022 rankings.
