Prep Hoops Maryland Preseason Freshman Watch List
In this article:
Our preview content resumes with a look at the Preseason Freshman Watch List for Maryland and DC. Here is a rundown of the 10 players who were selected by our team.
Jeff Exinor Jeff Exinor 6'4" | SF McDonogh | 2025 State #272 Nation MD | Wing | McDonogh (MD)
Giacubeno: Exinor will have plenty of opportunities as a freshman at McDonogh given their roster this season. He’s a 6-foot-4 wing/forward who shines on the football field but is also a great basketball prospect. He comes with explosive athleticism that allows him to finish above the rim, lateral quickness to guard multiple positions, and strength to play through physicality.
Tyler Jackson Tyler Jackson 6'2" | CG St. Frances | 2025 #40 Nation MD | Guard | St. Frances (MD)
Jackson will be the next highly touted guard from Chase Street. He plays extremely hard and with a chip on his shoulder at all times. Throughout the summer and fall, Jackson never shied away from a matchup even if it was against a senior. He’ll provide much-needed energy on both ends off the bench for head coach Nick Myles.
Nyk Lewis | Guard | Gonzaga (DC)
Wilson: As of right now I think Lewis has been the best 2025 prospect I have seen from the DMV. He has already made a name for himself on the national level and I expect him to be thrown in Gonzaga’s guard rotation right away this year for Steve Turner.
Frankie Mannino Frankie Mannino 6'4" | SF Landon | 2025 State MD | Guard | Landon (MD)
Ayalew: Mannino has been tabbed by Coach Turner as a player to watch for the Bears. He impressed during DMV Live and is tracking as one of the better prospects in the local 2025 class. Currently standing around 6-foot-3, Mannino is a hard-playing guard with a solid base skill set.
Josiah Massaquoi Josiah Massaquoi 6'5" | PF Jackson-Reed | 2025 State MD | Guard | St. Andrew’s (MD)
Wilson: Massaquoi is next up for Kevin Jones and St. Andrew’s and he is expected to be a household name in the DMV sooner rather than later. Standing at 6’4, Massaquoi has tremendous strength that he uses to his advantage. With his strength and size, he is a load to handle when he has the ball in his hands.
Jacob Ross | Wing | Saint James (MD)
Ayalew: Ross stood out for a shorthanded Saint James squad at DMV Live and has likely earned a significant role under Coach Breslin this season. He makes a lot of the right plays, particularly defensively. Look for Ross to rotate correctly and take charges that could swing the momentum in his team’s favor.
Jalen Rougier-Roane Jalen Rougier-Roane 6'5" | CG Sidwell Friends | 2025 State #142 Nation MD | Wing | Sidwell Friends (DC)
Ayalew: If there was one word to describe Rougier-Roane, that word would be smooth. He is a bigger guard who is a threat from three. Rougier-Roane should only improve as his rangy frame fills out over time.
Frank Siaca-Bey Frank Siaca-Bey 6'8" | C Fairfax Christian | 2026 State VA | Forward | Georgetown Prep (MD)
Ayalew: Siaca-Bey has the potential to be a disruptive presence defensively for Georgetown Prep this season and beyond. He is about 6-foot-6 with long arms and knows how to use them. Expect Siaca-Bey to consistently rebound out of his area, run the floor, aggressively establish post position, and hit the occasional corner trey.
Cameron Ward Cameron Ward 6'6" | SF Largo | 2025 State #30 Nation MD | Guard | Largo (MD)
Wilson: Ward is another name that has been talked about on a national level because of his ability to score the ball at a high level. He is coming off a great 8th-grade campaign with Team Durant and we fully expect that to continue during his freshman year at Largo.
Malik Washington Malik Washington 6'5" | SF Archbishop Spalding | 2025 MD | Forward | Archbishop Spalding (MD)
Giacubeno: We only had the chance to see Washington once this summer throughout the DMV Live weekends, but he left a lasting impression. Another dual-sport athlete who shines on the gridiron, Washington translates his athleticism, anticipation, and IQ to the hardwood and will be a vital piece to Spalding’s bench behind their senior-laden starting lineup.
