Neel Beniwal Neel Beniwal 6'5" | SG Phelps School | 2022 State PA – 6’5” / Phelps School / Rhode Island Elite / Shooting Guard: Beniwal’s automatic shooting from deep continued at this event. He drained 8 threes in a win over Redemption Christian. Across three games Beniwal posted a stat line of 19.9ppg on 53% shooting from deep (18/34); to go along with 3 rebounds and 1.6 steals per contest. In addition to his high percentage perimeter shooting, Beniwal owns a fantastic basketball IQ, plays with great deal of energy and is a tenacious competitor. How Beniwal remains uncommitted could be the biggest mystery in Pennsylvania’s Class of 2022.
Quin Berger – 6’1” / Westtown School / NJ Shoreshots / Combo Guard: A highly underrated backcourt prospect who can play a variety of different styles, Berger scored a tourney high 15 points against Vision Academy. As a lead guard, Berger (10 ppg.) can play in transition or direct half-curt sets. When he runs at shooting guard, his elite three-point shooting sets up his creative dribble drive game. Berger has no problem absorbing contact on his way to the rim.
Jayden Brown – 6’0” / Rocktop Academy / NJ Panthers / Shooting Guard: Brown was coming off a 40-spot against Putnam Science Academy, so expectations for him were high at this event. Brown did not disappoint. He is a flat-out scoring machine who can get buckets all day from all three levels. His ability to score by dribble driving to his right or left and then finishing with either hand is especially noteworthy. Brown sprinkles in enough silky jumpers to keep defenders honest.
Sean “SJ” Hutchinson – 6’3” / Phelps School / Philly Pride UAA / Wing: The former Malvern Prep lefty continues to present significant match-up issues for opponents. Hutchinson is tall and physical enough that he can shoot the mid-range jumper off the dribble or a 3-pointer over smaller guards. However, using a center/forward to guard Hutchinson will not work either, as he possesses the ball handling skills and foot speed to blow by that larger defender. Hutchinson posted 12 points in a win over Redemption Christian and made it look easy.
Collin Metcalf – 6’11’ / Mercersburg Academy / Global Squad / Center: A simply enormous wingspan enables Metcalf to provide elite level rim protection and rebounding for Mercersburg. Metcalf is fearless at challenging shots in the paint. Still, if you watch Metcalf long enough what surprises you is his athleticism and ability to run rim-to-rim. On several occasions Metcalf sprinted back for a chase down block, then turned and ran the floor on the fast break keeping pace with Mercersburg’s guards. As a bonus to all of this, Metcalf is a high IQ player who plays within his skill set. In 3 games at this event Metcalf shot 60% from field; averaged 12 ppg.; grabbed an astonishing 17.7 rpg. and swatted 2.5 bpg. Metcalf holds an offer from Sienna, but much bigger offers should be coming his way
