Continue ReadingThis fall we released our latest rankings for the classes of 2022, 2023, and 2024. What if you took those classes and did an overall ranking regardless of class? This is what they would look like! Once again this is a ranking based on college potential not what their impact will necessarily be this year in high school. This is our Illinois Top 50 Prospects Regardless of Class!
Today we unveil prospects #31 – #35!
#31 Nick Martinelli Nick Martinelli 6'6" | SF Glenbrook South | 2022 State #235 Nation IL (Glenbrook South – 2022)
Last Year’s Rank: #31
Martinelli is my co-worker Steve Parham’s favorite player in the state. Its easy to see why! The Glenbrook South power forward has been extremely productive over the last two years and will put up insane numbers as a senior. Can play all over the floor from point guard to the five at the high school level with his skill and natural feel for the game. Made an early commit to Elon.
#32 Kyle Thomas Kyle Thomas 6'8" | C St. Joesph | 2022 State #183 Nation IL (Benet – 2022)
Last Year’s Rank: #6
Thomas is making the move over to Benet for his senior campaign after St. Joseph closed its doors as a school. He will immediately bring them an interior presence that will make them better. Strong and physical five that brings athleticism up front. He has the potential to be one of the more impactful transfers with his rebounding, shot blocking, and rim running.
#33 Justin Mullins Justin Mullins 6'4" | SF Oak Park-River Forest | 2022 State IL (OPRF – 2022)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Denver got a good one in Mullins. The OPRF small forward has made a major leap in his game over the last calendar year. It first starts with his improvement as a perimeter shooter. Major strides made there where he is a more consistent threat from beyond the arc. Always been a great transition player getting out for dunks. Wing defender that can lock down opposing guard and wing scorers.
#34 Ty Pence Ty Pence 6'4" | SG St. Joseph Ogden | 2023 State IL (St. Joseph Ogden – 2023)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Pence ranks as one better central Illinois prospects in the state. We got to see him in person at the UIC Team Camp in July where he showed a well rounded offensive skill set. Clean looking mid-range jumper that stretches out to three. Solid athlete with an innate ability to go get you a bucket.
#35 Ahmad Henderson Ahmad Henderson 5'10" | PG Brother Rice | 2023 State #291 Nation IL (Brother Rice – 2023)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Henderson is a smaller point guard that is one of the most exciting players in the state to watch. The junior is an electric scorer that loves to pull up from deep for triples while also being so quick off the dribble he can get in the lane with ease on a consistent basis. Flair as a passer and has that “it” factor.
