As the varsity season is getting started, or already has gotten started, the State of New York will finally get to experience what should be a nearly normal basketball season. As always with every season, there’s always a handful of players who put in a mountain of work over the break, and only now have the opportunity to show it off, becoming "breakout players." Today, we take a look at some of the top candidates to break out this season.

Taylor Perlmutter Taylor Perlmutter 6'1" | PG LaSalle Academy | 2023 State NY has been great in the Fall circuit for Jersey Force, and as the CHSAA season starts up, that momentum is expected to continue at LaSalle. Perlmutter has the speed and endurance to be a starting point guard and lead his team up and down the floor, and his pull-up jumper gives him a great option so it isn’t like most pass or finish guards. His defense is elite, and his playmaking is sure to set up LaSalle in a good position for the CHSAA.
