The NCISAA 2021-22 season is finally upon us. Here's a look at the top NCISAA 1A frontcourts to keep an eye on.

 

Greenfield: Aaron Murphy Aaron Murphy 6'5" | SF Greenfield | 2022 State NC (Queens Commit) & Hampton Evans Hampton Evans 6'4" | SF Greenfield | 2024 State NC (2024)

Murphy and Evans are quite the 1-2 punch in the frontcourt for Greenfield School. Evans plays a physical brand of basketball around the rim and cleans up the glass when he’s not looking to score. Murphy is a versatile forward at 6-foot-5 that can operate inside and out with his ability. He’ll be another forward to watch for the Knights in 2021-22.

Crossroads Christian: John Henderson John Henderson 6'5" | PF Community Christian | 2023 State NC & D’Markus Tucker D’Markus Tucker 6'3" | PF Crossroads Christian | 2023 State NC (2023s)

Henderson and Tucker are two underrated prospects in NC’s 2023 class joining the Crossroads Christian rotation in 2021-22. Henderson is a versatile forward at 6-foot-5 with a ton of promise as a scorer on all three levels. He’s one prospect to keep an eye on along with D’Markus Tucker D’Markus Tucker 6'3" | PF Crossroads Christian | 2023 State NC . Tucker is an underrated rebounder and uses his 6-foot-3 frame well to be a presence in the paint. He’s another forward with versatility to keep an eye on.

He’s a sizeable big man that can rebound in bunches and has efficiency around the rim as a paint presence. Hodges is an emerging name in the frontcourt at 6-foot-8 with potential as a rim runner and rim protector. He’s another name to keep an eye on in Grace Christian’s rotation. United Faith Christian: Alex Bates Alex Bates 6'5" | SG United Faith Christian Academy | 2023 State NC & Camyl Witherspoon (2023s) Bates is a versatile 6-foot-4 prospect that can operate on the wing and give United Faith Christian some depth after joining the rotation from Weddington. He’s got the ability to play multiple roles on the floor and should boost the rebounding for UFCA. Witherspoon is an emerging 6-foot-8 forward to keep an eye on in the UFCA rotation. He played sparingly this past season for Ardrey Kell with room to carve out a role for himself in the frontcourt. Lake Norman Christian: Shane Fernald Shane Fernald 6'7" | PF Lake Norman Christian | 2022 State NC & Tyrone Barbee Tyrone Barbee 6'6" | SF Lake Norman Christian | 2022 State NC (2022) Fernald and Barbee are two of the more underrated forwards in NC’s 2022 class. Fernald has the ability to score in a variety of ways and plays an unselfish brand of basketball. He’s due to lead the way for them on the interior and on the wing. Barbee is an underrated paint presence with good length and instincts as a scorer and rebounder in the paint. Look for these two prospects to see their recruitment blow up in 2021-22 with Lake Norman Christian.
