The NCHSAA season kicks off in just a few weeks. Here's a look at Part II of the NCHSAA 3A Backcourts to keep an eye on.

C.B. Aycock: [player_tooltip player_id="1076337" first="Kamran" last="Prince"] (2024) & [player_tooltip player_id="1323452" first="Jaidyne" last="Dunn"] (2023)

Prince and Dunn got a ton of varsity experience under their belt in 2020-21 and return looking to lead another young group in 2021-22. Prince put up 6.5 ppg, 1.5 rpg and 1.0 apg and showed his growth with [program_tooltip program_id='2078549' first='Team' last='Wall'] over the grassroots season. Dunn posted 7.5 ppg, 2.8 rpg and 2.1 apg as a sophomore and looks to be their top playmaker entering his junior season. He can defend and play with and without the ball in his hands.

First Flight: [player_tooltip player_id="854893" first="Isaac" last="Dobie"] (2023) & [player_tooltip player_id="1220133" first="Mason" last="Dobie"] (2025)

First Flight opponents will have a dynamic duo of brothers to worry about this upcoming season with the return of [player_tooltip player_id="854893" first="Isaac" last="Dobie"] & the addition of [player_tooltip player_id="1220133" first="Mason" last="Dobie"] in the 2025 class. The younger Dobie is a prospect that's turned heads already as a sharpshooter and creator off the bounce. His older brother should have some solid chemistry and it'll take some of the scoring load off of him in the process. He put up 23.5 ppg along with 5.5 rpg, 1.7 spg and 1.4 apg in 2020-21.

J.H. Rose: [player_tooltip player_id="945075" first="Kevion" last="Waller"] & [player_tooltip player_id="1126563" first="Montez" last="Green"] (2022s)

Waller and Green are two underrated guards in the 2022 class with tons of potential. They're the top two returning scorers from 2020-21 as Waller put up 13.8 ppg along with 5.2 apg and 2.9 spg. Green put up 17.5 ppg, 4.5 apg, 3.8 rpg and 2.2 spg. Waller is a strong guard that can get downhill and make plays in the paint. Defensively, he gets under opponents and forces turnovers with his quickness. Green is a prospect that can make things happen with and without the ball in his hands as a perimeter threat. He's another pest on the defensive side of the ball as well.

Kings Mountain: [player_tooltip player_id="1113865" first="Zeke" last="Cannedy"] (2022) & [player_tooltip player_id="1323357" first="Zavian" last="Smith"] (2024)

[player_tooltip player_id="1113865" first="Zeke" last="Cannedy"] is an underrated name in NC's 2022 class that gets after it on both ends of the floor. He produced 13.3 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 2.3 apg and 1.3 spg in 2020-21 and looks to lead the way for a young squad. With the departure of [player_tooltip player_id="947095" first="Isaiah" last="Tate"] (Gaston Day School), the door is wide open for [player_tooltip player_id="1323357" first="Zavian" last="Smith"] to step in and change things for the Mountaineers. He'll look to give Cannedy some backcourt support with his ability to handle the ball and create.

Seventy-First: [player_tooltip player_id="1130146" first="Randy" last="Dockery"] & [player_tooltip player_id="1323453" first="Jared" last="Davis"] & [player_tooltip player_id="1323454" first="Jakoi" last="Hassell"] (2023s)

Dockery, Davis and Hassell will look to start anew under head coach Tony Jones. Under new leadership, they'll look to make a splash once again after turning heads in 2020-21. Davis led the way last season with 12.7 ppg and 5.6 rpg, Hassel was right behind him with 8.8 pg, 2.1 rpg, 1.7 apg and 1.1 spg. Dockery is their third-leading returner with 8.6 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 1.4 spg and 1.3 spg. They're a squad that spreads the ball around and should do some once again, especially with [player_tooltip player_id="1168305" first="James" last="Scott"] down low.
