Familiar faces with bigger roles. These are the Cream of the Crop for class of 2022. If you don’t know these players yet trust they will wake you up by end of the season! Let’s dive in.
Isaac Traudt Isaac Traudt 6'9" | SF Grand Island | 2022 State #45 Nation NE (2022) | 6-9 F | Grand Island/Nebraska Supreme 17U UAA
Coming off an already impressive 25 ppg last season, Isaac is prepared to take on a bigger role this season with leadership and poise. His ability to get to his spot with ease makes him almost unguardable. A smooth shooting form from the outside and the ability to finish around the rim with both hands is a matchup nightmare waiting to happen. Standing at 6’9 with a nice wingspan I expect him to be more disruptive on the defensive end and take strides into becoming a top defender in the state.
Jasen Green Jasen Green 6'7" | PF Millard North | 2022 State #153 Nation NE | 6’7 F | Millard South/Nebraska Supreme 17U UAA
Last Year Champ looks to put his mark on the program as he takes over his senior year. The athletic forward has a scary bounce and leaping ability. A very good on-ball defender who can guard players from the arc to the basket with ease, and has fast recovery feet. Capable dribbling able to lead the break while also being a willing passer to the open man. With the calm nerve to knock down open shots, I see Jasen’s role evolving from averaging 12 ppg last year (while playing with the number 1 player in the state) to leading his team in multiple categories and possibly to a successful season with all the support around him returning.
Jayden Dawson Jayden Dawson 6'4" | CG Omaha Central | 2022 State NE | 6’4 CG | Omaha Central/Nebraska Supreme 17U UAA
Possibly the best shooter in the upcoming class. Now senior Jayden looks to make improvements on an already stellar
44% from the 3 point line last year. He’s a top-notch scorer who is not limited to just shooting. He has the knack to finish around the hoop amongst anyone. A nice bag of counters to get his shot off against any defender. With a patent step-back that creates separation for a smooth quick shot the now senior who lead the team 14.3 ppg as a junior last year, looks to take on a much bigger leadership role as more is placed on his shoulders following the departure of a lot of seniors from last year.
Cale Jacobsen Cale Jacobsen 6'3" | CG Ashland Greenwood | 2022 State NE |6’3 G | Ashland-Greenwood/Nebraska Supreme 17U UAA
Looking to bounce back from an ACL injury suffered last year in the first game. Cale has all the makeup to prove while missing all of last season he is still a Top 5 prospect in the state. A knockdown lefty shooter with a quick release. Also has the ability to put it on the deck get to the rim finish or dish it off to a teammate. Great shot creator if the play breakdown he is calm and collected enough to get off a nice shot. Has a sneaky bounce for someone his size. Averaging 23.8 ppg his last full season played the now senior will be joining a deep returning class which will help make for an easy transition back to the hardwood.
Luke Jungers Luke Jungers 6'9" | PF Omaha Creighton Prep | 2022 State NE | 6’9 F | Creighton Prep/KC Run GMC 17U UAA
The 6’9 Senior had a terrific year last year and looks to build upon it. Averaged 12 ppg while shooting 42% from the arc, he is going to be able to add on to the production this year. Luke is a natural-born shooter he is able to shoot from the outside consistently while having a plethora of moves underneath the basket. His footwork is top of his class and unmatched. Attach that with a smooth fadeaway make is an arsenal of moves at his disposal. While averaging 5 rpg and barely an assist per game I look for the senior to take on more of doing the little things for his team and getting his teammates more involved. He’s already a walking bucket so adding the small tangibles to his game can help him get over to hump and maybe to a state title.
William Kyle William Kyle 6'8" | C Bellevue West | 2022 State NE III | C 6’8 | Bellevue West/Nebraska Supreme 17U UAA
A big man that plays both ends of the floor. William’s ability to get up and down the floor is the reason why he’s a matchup problem for the upcoming season. He has a motor that won’t stop. His size and wingspan make him a nightmare for opposing players who drive to the rim and for those on the perimeter. With excellent feet and lateral movement, he is more than capable of guarding all positions this year. An active rebounder Kyle now a senior will be required to help with a lot more on the floor. Benefitting from playing with a lot of seniors his previous year, it is now his chance to take the mantle and lead his squad back to the state finals.
Daniel Brocaille Daniel Brocaille 6'4" | SF Papio South | 2022 State NE | 6’5 F | Papio-La Vista South/Nebraska Supreme 17U UAA
More than a capable shooter. Gets to his spot with no hesitation. Finishes around the basket with ease. Size doesn’t stop him from putting the ball on the floor and taking it to the rack. Great shot creator for himself, but also a willing passer. Eyes of a playmaker and makes the right decision, never rushed. Although a very reliable scorer last year while leading the team with 17 ppg. He also displayed very fast hands also with an average of 1.7 spg also a team-high. 8 seniors will return to this squad but won’t stop this kid’s opportunity to display why he is a top prospect of the state.
