Before Memorial heads down to Texas for the Elite 14 Scrimmage in Wichita Falls, they got some action on Thursday afternoon as they hosted Bartlesville for a scrimmage. The Chargers once again look the part don’t appear to be taking a step back anytime soon. You knew they wouldn’t with their top four leading scorers returning for this season. The Chargers dominated the scrimmage from the opening tip and it’ll be good to see how they look down in Texas against some out of state competition.
For now, let’s take a look at some of the individual standouts from Memorial’s scrimmage on Thursday and stay tuned to Prep Hoops Oklahoma for more coverage on the Chargers throughout the 2021-2022 season.
Bradyn Hubbard

Technically, Bradyn Hubbard Bradyn Hubbard 6'7" | PF Tulsa Memorial | 2022 State OK is the first prospect listed here because we’re doing it alphabetically, but if Hubbard was also the top performer from the scrimmage on Thursday for the Chargers. Offensively and defensively, Hubbard was a big problem for Bartlesville and the Memorial big man owned the paint on both sides of the ball. Early on in the scrimmage, Hubbard also showed that he can step out and knock down some jumpers, even from beyond the perimeter. But throughout the scrimmage, Hubbard was a dominating force inside and Memorial fed him and took advantage of the mismatches that Hubbard consistently had. Hubbard was also playing with a high game IQ throughout the afternoon. If he caught Bartlesville crashing into the paint to defend him, he would fire a pass out to someone on the perimeter and the Chargers would get an easy bucket. The Memorial big man averaged a double double a year ago and is primed to do more of the same this season.
Jarreth Ingram Jarreth Ingram 6'4" | SF Noah | 2023 State OK – 2023 Forward
Junior forward Jarreth Ingram Jarreth Ingram 6'4" | SF Noah | 2023 State OK is joining the Memorial program this year and this was our first opportunity to see how he looked with his new squad. Ingram came off the bench on Thursday and mostly played with the second unit but would also be blended into a lineup with starters. On the court, Ingram mostly worked in the paint, taking advantage of the mismatch with Bartlesville. Just like with Hubbard, Ingram was able to dominate in the paint and finish through contact. Ingram has shown over the last year that he can also knock down jumpers from all over the floor but that’s not what he was asked to do on Thursday. Ingram is still a work in process in terms of getting acquainted with his new team but the Chargers are continuing to work him in and see the best way to use him moving forward.
Killian Spellman Killian Spellman 6'3" | PF Memorial | 2022 State TX – 2022 Combo Guard
One of the more impressive standouts from Thursday was senior combo guard Killian Spellman Killian Spellman 6'3" | PF Memorial | 2022 State TX . He had a fantastic afternoon on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Athletically, Spellman is off the charts as a prospect as he was flying all over the floor and can absolutely jump out of the gym. It’s hard not to be impressed with the Memorial backcourt and see how well they work together. Spellman certainly excels working with this group and can showcase his athleticism on both sides of the ball. He was at his best on Thursday when he was getting out and transition after forcing a turnover and capitalizing on the other end. In a half court situation, Spellman still leaned on driving to the basket finishing through contact to get the bucket.
Seth Pratt Seth Pratt 6'3" | SG Memorial | 2023 State OK – 2023 Shooting Guard
Memorial’s junior standout Seth Pratt Seth Pratt 6'3" | SG Memorial | 2023 State OK certainly has the reputation of being a deadeye sniper from the perimeter and it didn’t take long for him to showcase that shooting talent on Thursday. Memorial won the opening tip and the ball went to Pratt who casually knocked down a three-pointer within seconds of the scrimmage starting. That was just the start for the junior guard. He was able to fill it up from the perimeter and anytime Bartlesville left him open, Pratt made them pay by knocking down shot after shot. Memorial was able to get Pratt involved by a combination of driving to the basket or getting the ball in the paint to Hubbard and as the defense crashed, a Charger would make the extra pass to Pratt who would nail a three-pointer. Pratt will no doubt be one of the top shooters in Oklahoma this season.
Tyreece Frierson Tyreece Frierson 5'10" | PG Tulsa Memorial | 2022 State OK – 2022 Point Guard
And our final prospect spotlight is on the point guard for the Chargers in senior Tyreece Frierson Tyreece Frierson 5'10" | PG Tulsa Memorial | 2022 State OK . Last year’s leading scorer, Frierson didn’t have to showcase his scoring skills on Thursday against the Bruins. He was more of a facilitator and getting other players involved throughout the afternoon. Frierson showed last year that he is more than capable from pulling up and hitting shots from just about anywhere on the floor as he was a threat on the perimeter as well as driving into the paint. But it seems clear that Frierson is determined to add more to his game and that’s getting all of the other weapons around him involved. We expect his assist numbers to skyrocket this season as he leads the Chargers on the offensive side of the ball.
