Continue ReadingThe Indiana high school season is right around the corner and we at Prep Hoops Indiana will be out and about to cover nearly the entire state all season long. With the season about to start, it is now a good time as any to preview the players that will be showcasing their talents all year. Today, we take a look at a few 2024 SFs to watch for.
Jack Benter Jack Benter 6'4" | SG Brownstown Central | 2024 State #121 Nation IN – 6’4 – Brownstown Central: Coming off of a huge freshman season where he averaged around 18 ppg followed by a huge AAU season, Benter comes in this winter as the number 3 ranked player in our 2024 Rankings. His overall game, ability, size, and about everything else has just continued to improve and improve each time we see him. With that, his recruitment has hit a major boost with Wright State, Purdue, Indiana State, and Bellermine all taking interest currently. This guy is going to be one to watch this season at Brownstown Central.
Sheldon Gatlin Sheldon Gatlin 6'7" | SF Cathedral | 2024 State IN – 6’4 – Carmel: Gatlin comes into the high season as our number 15 ranked player in the 2024 Class. He is a taller, lanky wing that is pretty balanced overall. Carmel has a pretty loaded, upperclassman team but Gatlin has a real chance to provide some major minuets for them this season. Kept an eye on him not only this year, but for the next few as well.
D’Amare Hood D’Amare Hood 6'4" | SF Delta | 2024 State IN – 6’3 – Delta: Standing at 6’3 and arguably one of the most natural, athletically gifted wings we have in the state, Hood is one of the more intriguing prospects in the 2024 class. He caught my attention earlier in the summer as someone that showed tremendous upside and then he really broke out at the Indiana Top 250 in September. He just consistently makes plays on both ends of the floor and has a solid feel for the game. He is going to be a guy that you hear a lot about these next few years.
Riley Shepherd Riley Shepherd 6'5" | SF Tippecanoe Valley | 2024 State IN – 6’4 – Tippecanoe Valley: Shepherd is a lanky wing that can light it up with confidence from behind the arc. He really impressed us this summer with his natural scoring ability and smooth, composed playing style. Legit think there is a possibility that he will be Tippecanoe Valley’s leading scoring this season. Ton upside here in Shepherd.
Mark White – 6’2 – Ben Davis: White is a tough, strong wing. Pushes the tempo and uses his athleticism very well to get to the rim. Once he can develop a consistent jumper 15ft and out, he has a real good chance to be a reliable 3 and D type of player. Big chance for him to have a breakout season this year for the Ben Davis Giants.
