With the season about to start, it is now a good time as any to preview the players that will be showcasing their talents all year. Today, we take a look at a few 2023 PGs to watch for.
Logan Imes Logan Imes 6'4" | PG Zionsville | 2023 State #202 Nation IN – 6’4 – Zionsville: Imes is one of the most sought after players that we have in the entire state right now. Recruitment finally blew up and he is just getting offer after offer from schools such as Wake Forrest, Virginia Tech, Penn State, Butler, Creighton, Drake, UMass, Akron, Bradley, and with many more to come. Very interested to see Imes this year as he has a chance to be more on ball than he was last year. Zionsville is going to have a very good team this year and Imes will be the guy that they rely on the most. Going to be a very big junior year for him.
Preston Roberts Preston Roberts 6'5" | SF Noblesville | 2023 State IN – 6’5 – Noblesville: Roberts is an explosive and fast player when he is running north to south. Had a very good AAU season and ramped it towards the end which led to him getting an offer from Coastal Carolina towards the end of July. He is one of our player that we think is bound to have a breakout high school season with what should be an improved Noblesville team. So much upside in Roberts.
Marcus Northern Marcus Northern 6'2" | PG South Bend Washington | 2023 State IN – 6’1 – South Bend Washington: Northern is a very skilled lead guard that often gets overlooked at times. Very quick with great court vison and can provide dynamic scoring at all three levels. He is not ever the biggest player on the floor but his talent and natural playmaking tendencies are to his advantage. No doubt he can play at that next level for smaller schools and it is only a matter of time before he starts hearing from them. So much that we have yet to see from Northern.
Deaglan Sullivan Deaglan Sullivan 6'2" | PG Mishawaka Marian | 2023 State IN – 6’2 – Mishawaka Marian: Sullivan was a player that caught my eye over the summer because of how tough and intense he is on the floor. Plays with a high motor and is one of the best defensive lead guards we have in the state. He is an under-the-radar player but can play a high level. Keep and eye on him because he is just going to get better and better.
Colton Staggs Colton Staggs 6'1" | PG Bedford North Lawrence | 2023 IN – 6’1 – Bedford North Lawrence: I have seen Staggs quite a bit over the last two years and he has just seemed to get better and better each time. This year he is forced to step up in a big way with almost a completely new roster at Bedford and with another 2023 stud Colten Leach likely out for most of the year. Staggs had a huge Sectional and was one of the many reasons that they were able to make it to the finals. It is a safe bet that Staggs is going to have a monster junior year.
