“Our 5th annual Let’s Get Ready Camp was a huge success and one that will be remembered for years to come! It was a sold out event and the first year that the girls were a part of it. We had over 100 boy campers and close to 20 girls. As with every year, I chose the top standouts from the camp. And this year has proven to be more difficult for me as there were so many great players. For those that I will miss, their play didn’t go unnoticed and I’m sure they will/have been mentioned as well. There is no particular order in which I will pronounce the standouts” – Coach Dell
We looked at some of those players in Part 1 below:
Here are the remaining players from Coach Dell’s standouts at Let’s Get Ready V:
Thomas Dillard Iv Thomas Dillard Iv 6'4" | SF Kalamazoo Central | 2022 State MI (2022, 6-3, Kalamazoo Central)
“First off, let me say that Thomas is a great kid to be around. His attitude and demeanor shows success. I really enjoyed working with him and I was impressed with his game. Thomas can do many things, especially defend. He was probably the best defender at Let’s Get Ready. He is strong and athletic, with a high motor.” – Coach Dell
Ashton Atwater Ashton Atwater 6'0" | CG Otsego | 2022 State MI (2022, 6-1, Otsego)
“Ashton has improved his stock this summer tremendously and in continued at Let’s Get Ready. He showed that he is a true point guard that can run a team. Ashton was dropping dimes all over the court, showing a court vision that’s rare. He will continue to be a force this year for his high school team, you can book it.” – Coach Dell
Preston Malpass Preston Malpass 6'7" | PF East Jordan | 2024 MI (2024, 6-7, East Jordan)
“Preston was the biggest surprise at Let’s Get Ready. I don’t think we knew how good he really is. He can score from all 3 levels and his athletic ability is off the charts. When he competed in the dunk contest, he threw down a windmill that had everyone amazed. I am very excited to see more of him.” – Coach Dell
Daquan Coleman Daquan Coleman 6'2" | CG Bendle | 2022 State MI (2022, 6-2 Bendle)
“Daquan was the ’Michael Jordan’ of Let’s Get Ready. He proceeded to go to work on anyone who tried to guard him. He was unstoppable, hitting deep threes or driving and finishing at the rim. Daquan was a treat to watch.” – Coach Dell
EJ Ryans EJ Ryans 6'4" | SG Northview | 2024 State #224 Nation MI (2024, 6-3, Northview)
“EJ will someday be the big man on campus for some D1 program. This sophomore was sensational at Let’s Get Ready V. He won the King of the Hill contest with dazzling pull up jumpers and sweet moves to the rim. Everyone in the gym knew that he was a special talent. At his age, he has a chance to really make some noise in the next few years and I 100% believe he will.” – Coach Dell
Tyran Thomas Tyran Thomas 6'4" | SG Northview | 2023 State MI (2023, 6-5, Northview)
“Tyran won the dunk contest when jumped over a 5-10 kid with one dribble and a nasty 2 handed flush. That dunk almost brought the house down. However, that wasn’t the end for Tyran as he also went home with the MOP award voted by the coaches. Tyran had a sensational camp, showing everyone that he is on a different level. He was always a player with great athletic ability, but now he has improved his game with pull ups, dribble drives, and playmaking. Northview has a great one.” – Coach Dell
