The fourteenth annual NorCal Tip-Off Classic will take place on Saturday, November 27th 2021 at Dublin High School. Here is a look at the class of 2022 standouts who will be participating in the event.
6’2 Combo Guard Ameree Britton of Elk Grove HS
Britton is a combo guard with a solid all-around game who makes contributions at both ends. He has strength, athleticism, and a competitive spark, and a pretty good understanding of how to play. In a non-COVID environment, he would have a lot more attention, but Britton IS a Division I level prospect.
6’3 Guard Rishod Brown Rishod Brown 6'3" | CG Grant | 2022 State CA-N of Grant HS (Sacramento)
Brown is a real athletic guard with speed and quickness to burn. He is an up-tempo guy who makes a ton of plays in transition. He has a really nice first step and gets by defenders almost at will. He is also proving that he can shoot it from the perimeter. Brown has been a little below the radar but has recently shown that he merits Division I consideration.
6’7 Guard/Wing Myles Byrd of Lincoln HS (Stockton)
Byrd is a long and athletic wing who is a very talented scorer. He can fill it up in every way possible. But he is also a very good and willing passer who can ignite a team. And he is a solid defender and rebounder. Byrd is a San Diego State commit with a very bright future.
6’7 Combo Forward Takai Emerson-Hardy Takai Emerson-Hardy 6'7" | SF Vanden | 2022 State CA-N of Vanden HS (Fairfield)
Emerson-Hardy is a fairly athletic combo forward who brings a lot to the table. Strength, long arms, versatile scorer inside and out, rebounder, passion for the game. There is a lot to like about Emerson-Hardy who is a definite mid-major prospect.
6’6 Wing Jo Jo Hunter of San Joaquin Memorial HS (Fresno)
Hunter is an athletic, wing who is a scoring machine and is a complete player offensively. Real nice ball-handler and passer, effective in transition, very nice mid-range game, good driver, a much-improved/now consistent shooter (3-range), has some post-up skills. He is next to impossible to guard. Hunter is a high-level player who has committed to Fresno State.
6’6 Wing/Guard Dereck Claxton of Inderkum HS (Sacramento)
Clayton is an athletic wing who is an impressive scorer in transition and in the half-court. He can fill it up from all three levels (perimeter, mid-range, at the rim) and is a problem matchup for the opposition. He is a bonafide Division I prospect.
6’5 Guard/Wing Jeremiah Dargan Jeremiah Dargan 6'4" | CG Clayton Valley Charter | 2022 State CA-N of Clayton Valley Charter (Concord)
Dargan is an athletic guard/wing with a versatile skill set. He can handle and pass it and has an effective pull-up game-both on the break and in the half-court. He is a confident shooter with 3 range who has a nice floater and gets to the basket on the drive well. Dargan is a Division I player in the low plus/mid minus range.
6’2 Combo Guard Aidan Mahaney Aidan Mahaney 6'3" | PG Campolindo | 2022 State #71 Nation CA-N of Campolindo HS (Moraga)
Mahaney is a deceptively athletic combo guard with a high-level skill set. He’s a supreme ball handler and passer who makes those around him better. He creates for himself and others on a consistent basis. Mahaney has battled injuries in recent months but when healthy he is as good as it gets guard-wise in NorCal. He has committed to St Mary’s College.
6’8 Post Anthony Williams Anthony Williams 6'8" | PF Inderkum | 2022 State CA-N of Inderkum HS (Sacramento)
Williams is a fairly athletic postman who is “hard to guard”. He has a solid skillset on the block with a variety of moves. He can beat the defender on the mid-range face-up drive and he shoots it ok with 3 range. Williams is also a solid rebounder who is very active on the glass. If he gets his academics in order, he will sign Division I.
