CARL ALBERT TITANS
OVERVIEW
The Titans of Carl Albert have been one of the powerhouse programs in Class 5A, as they have made eight straight Class 5A State Tournaments under head coach Jay Price. Last season they were able to capture the school’s third state title, with a victory over Lawton MacArthur. It was a fitting end for a senior class of Titans that started their high school career playing with 2018 Gatorade Player of the Year Mason Harrell and it meant that James Locke, Maurice Cudjo, Curtis Rose, Quentin Woodson, Jaden Harrell and more were able to leave a lasting legacy at the tradition rich program.
Now it’s a new chapter for the Titans, as they replace all five starters and eleven seniors overall from their state championship squad. Price had a similar task in 2019 following a similarly accomplished group of seniors from 2018. In 2019 they were 16-12 on the year, but were able to keep their state tournament streak alive. With an experienced and successful coach like Price, who is a Carl Albert alum himself, odds are that the Titans will be playing their best ball come February and will have an opportunity come Area weekend to punch another ticket to the state tournament.
COACH’S QUOTE
Carl Albert Head Coach Jay Price on expectations for his new look roster
“We are very young and inexperienced. I think we have the skill level to be competitive and possibly make a late run to qualify for the state tournament.”

NOTABLE
The Titans will be well tested throughout the season. And they have a big rivalry game early in the season, as they host intra-district rivals Midwest City on January 14th. There’s extra spice to this year’s match up, as the Bombers have dropped down to join Carl Albert in Class 5A. Coach Price is expecting some additional depth to be added by football players joining the roster in December. While a pair of sophomores, Jayden Mott at 6’6 and Quincy Hopkins at 6’3 should help give the Titans size in the post.
Carl Albert will also be playing in one of the top tournaments in the OKC metro, the Mustang Holiday Tournament December 27th-29th. The trip to Mustang is sure to bring three challenging match ups, meaning it could be a bit of a baptism of fire for the new look Titans.
One big tune up for the Titans before the calendar flips to February will be the Titan Classic they are hosting January 20th-22nd. While Carl Albert has often defended home-court in their tournament, last year they were defeated by intra-district rivals Del City in the championship game.
