1. St. Frances
The Panthers are loaded in the backcourt with MM-HM prospects. 2022 Bryce Lindsay Bryce Lindsay 6'2" | CG St. Frances | 2022 State MD transfers in and provides elite outside shooting with range next to 2023 Jahnathan Lamothe Jahnathan Lamothe 6'3" | CG St. Frances | 2023 State #204 Nation MD , who has proven himself over the years as an efficient sniper as well. 2023 Carlton Carrington Carlton Carrington 6'4" | CG St. Frances | 2023 State #84 Nation MD is a new face to the group similar to Lindsay and while at this point he doesn’t have the range that Lindsay has, he can still get it going from beyond the arc and hit shots in volume. Carrington can also mix it up and get to his spots in the mid-range. 2024 Daquan Davis Daquan Davis 6'1" | PG Overtime Elite (GA) | 2024 #119 Nation GA and 2025 Tyler Jackson bring the scrappy, tough defense to the group and especially when it comes to Davis, you wont find many others who play harder than him at his position every time he takes the floor.
2. Mount Saint Joseph
Headlined by 2024 Bryson Tucker Bryson Tucker 6'7" | CG IMG Academy | 2024 #15 Nation FL , the Gaels have a solid group of guards heading into the season. Tucker has already emerged as a name nationally within his class, but I have a feeling this season will bolster his stock into being a top five prospect in the country. He’s a balanced, all-around guard with size at 6-foot-6 who can score from all three levels, distribute and has and IQ that is mature beyond his years. 2023 Ace Valentine Ace Valentine 6'2" | PG Mount St. Joseph | 2023 State MD will be a crucial piece as he’ll be asked to share ball handling duties with Tucker. He’ll need to score it with efficiency and keep turnovers to a minimum. 2023 Austin Abrams Austin Abrams 6'3" | SG Mount St. Joseph | 2023 State MD did a nice job of building a reputation this summer and using the confidence gained from his play to carry into his junior season. He’s a 6-foot-3 guard with a smooth shooting stroke and will be counted on to provide floor spacing. 2023 guard Sean Clark Sean Clark 6'1" | CG Mount St. Joseph | 2023 State MD is one to watch in the role he’ll be asked to fill. Clark will need to step in and help keep the other talented point guards of the BCL at bay while also being a consistent floor-runner in transition where his athleticism can come to light.
3. Mount Carmel
The Cougars are equipped with arguably the best point guard in the state in Loyola (MD) commit Deon Perry Deon Perry 5'8" | PG Mt. Carmel | 2022 State MD . If you’ve read articles on our site before regarding Perry, you know how highly I think of him, but it’s the others who will dictate just how far Mount Carmel will go this season. Argentinian transfer Drazen Sinigoj brings size at 6-foot-4 and dead-eye shooting from three. 2024 Andrew Dixon Andrew Dixon 6'1" | PG Mt. Carmel | 2024 State MD is another guard who can take some of the ball-handling responsibilities from Perry when needed and also brings tough on-ball defense. 2024 Tjay Beckles Tjay Beckles 5'10" | PG Overlea | 2023 State MD will be another playmaker on the ball who can shoot well beyond the three-point line. Head coach Trevor Quinn will be tasked with a deep roster overall, but I think 2025 Rodney Scott is going to find his way onto the floor for stints. He stands 5-foot-5 on a good day, but is one of the most vocal leaders as a freshman that I’ve seen. 2025 Mario Tatum could get his chance as well given his ability to knock down shots and play with a good motor on both ends.
4. John Carroll
The reigning BCL champs lost Jalen Bryant (Kutztown), which is a bigger loss than I believe people are making it out to be, but 2022 Tyson Commander Tyson Commander 6'4" | SG The John Carroll School | 2022 State #203 Nation MD steps into a major role and and has continued to improve his overall game and body. The 6-foot-4 southpaw can put up 25 in the blink of an eye with his ability to score in bunches from three, but it’ll be Commander’s athleticism that impresses people who haven’t seen him since last winter. Look for him to be an above the rim finisher with regularity in transition. 2023 Jeannot Basima Jeannot Basima 6'3" | CG John Carroll | 2023 State #200 Nation MD returns after a dominant run in the BCL Playoffs where he helped the Patriots to the championship and earned BCL Playoff MVP honors. He’s a relentless downhill scorer and one of the most versatile defenders in the state. 2022 TJ Vaughn TJ Vaughn 5'10" | PG John Carroll | 2022 State MD will be the one asked to fill the void left behind by Bryant. The 5-foot-10 lefty is a different style of player, but ended last season on a high note hitting timely three’s and making good decision as a floor general.
5. Archbishop Spalding
It’s insane that I’m opting to put Spalding’s backcourt at No. 5 on this list given their experience, but it just speaks to how good the league is going to be. 2022 Jordan Pennick Jordan Pennick 6'1" | CG Archbishop Spalding | 2022 State MD is the league’s version of Davion Mitchell with his ability to take the other team’s best perimeter player out of the game. Mix in a consistent catch-and-shoot three-point threat and you have extreme value in what Pennick brings alone. 2022 Tyheil Peterson Tyheil Peterson 5'10" | PG Archbishop Spalding | 2022 State MD is a combo guard who can make this Cavalier team hard to beat when he’s hitting shots. He’ll hit the occasional three off the catch, but he’s really good at attacking closeouts, getting to his spots in the mid-range and cashing in on pull up jumpers. 2022 Josh Rivers Josh Rivers 6'4" | SF Archbishop Spalding | 2022 State MD is the floor spacer of this group. A guy that the defense has to be aware of of all times considering his ability to convert on catch-and-shoot three’s with range in both the halfcourt or in transition.
