There were 28 players in attendance with four teams of 7 players on a team. Each team played each other one time and all the games were very competitive.
I don’t follow the middle school hoop scene, but many in attendance thought that there were many of the top 2026 players in the state that they knew of competing.
Here were the top guards I viewed that I didn’t previously mention: (Two of the players are undecided where they will attend HS next year)
Will Gordon Will Gordon 6'2" | CG San Tan Charter | 2026 State AZ San Tan Charter (Pictured)
A tough downhill guard who makes plays for his teammates. He can shoot the 3 off the catch and score in transition. He is quick on the ball defensively. A huge pick up for a small school.
Brayden Newton SG 6’0 N/A
A good sized guard with a decent handle. He changes directions with the ball well and can get to the cup. He has a high arcing 3pt shot off the catch and can pull-up.
Simon Gonzales PG 5’3 Deer Valley
An undersized guard is fearless. He has a good feel for the game and the lefty has a consistent 3pt stroke with some range. He is quick on defense and has the important floater game down pat. He is a good passer and plays the game from the neck up.
Kyler Frye PG 5’9 McClintock
A downhill scorer doesn’t mind scoring through contact. He has nice speed with the ball and a good burst to get into the lane. He is a smart guard who is crafty inside the paint.
Bennett Skinner PG 5’7 Pinnacle
A 3pt shooter with a high IQ. He has a nice floater with a quick burst. He is fast in the open court and most of his 3’s are off the catch.
Nizir Cannady PG 5’7 N/A
A quick on quick ball handler loves touching the paint. He can get downhill and score it through contact with some toughness despite being a little undersized. He can hit from mid to the 3.
Brody Postorino PG 5’10 Notre Dame Prep
A high IQ pure PG with good size for his class. He can drive and kick it out to shooters and will spray it around unselfishly. He has deep 3pt range and plays the game with a purpose.
Paxton Tamlyn CG 5’5 Chandler
One of the top shooters of the camp. He launches from deep beyond the arc effortlessly. His 3pt stroke will get him some minutes in HS. He is also tough on the ball defensively.
Jayden Perez CG 5’4 Chandler
An undersized high IQ guard can play on or off the ball. He has a good feel for the game and is very skilled. His catch-3 is his best weapon and the Wolves will add some more guard depth next season.
