Taveon Long Taveon Long 6'1" | CG Overland | 2022 State CO – Overland
Taveon Long Taveon Long 6'1" | CG Overland | 2022 State CO is a player who has transferred to Overland from Hinkley and playing in one of the best leagues in Colorado, he has a lot to prove playing against some of the top teams and players in Colorado. Taveon is a point guard with good size standing at 6’2 who knows how to get downhill. He has a very quick first step that he uses to get past defenders, then he either can finish at the rim or draw in the defense to dish the ball off to an open teammate. When driving to the basket Taveon has wide shoulders that he uses to move through smaller guards. Taveon is a guard who can play on and off of the ball as he is a great slasher. We are very interested to see what Taveon has to bring to a very good Overland squad.
Micah Leslie Micah Leslie 6'5" | PF Mullen | 2022 State CO – Mullen
Micah Leslie Micah Leslie 6'5" | PF Mullen | 2022 State CO is one of the grittiest players in the state and has a lot to prove coming into his second varsity season with Mullen. Micah transferred to Mullen his sophomore year, so he had to play JV for a year where he dominated. Micah had the second-most points and rebounds per game on the team last year behind star senior Brayden Carter, this year he will be expected to step up into the main role. Micah will see the majority of his scoring from mid-range and close to the bucket. He has good instincts for finding offensive rebounds and going directly back up for the second chance opportunity. Expect big things from Micah this season with Mullen.
Tayt Chacon Tayt Chacon 6'4" | PF University | 2022 State CO – University
Tayt Chacon Tayt Chacon 6'4" | PF University | 2022 State CO has been one of the more prolific scorers in the class of 2022 averaging 19.3 points per game through his first three years of varsity basketball. Tayt is a multi-sport athlete who gets it done on and off the hardwood. This athleticism transfers onto the hardwood as he is a guy who uses his great height, standing at 6’5, and big frame to push around smaller defenders. Then from the outside, Tayt has a good set jumper and is a guy you definitely do not want to leave open. Expect another big scoring year from Tayt, it will be interesting to see how far he can take University in the 3A playoffs this year.
Chris Watkins Chris Watkins 5'11" | CG Rangeview | 2022 State CO – Rangeview
Chris Watkins Chris Watkins 5'11" | CG Rangeview | 2022 State CO is a shifty guard on a powerhouse Rangeview team looking for a senior to step up. Chris is a guy who you can put the ball into his hands and he will make something happen. He has some of the best handles in the state which allows him to shake defenders off of him. After a first move Chris is a good finisher at the rim but he often draws a lot of attention with his fancy moves so he often finds open teammates when help defense comes to guard him. Chris is a very interesting guard prospect who we are interested to see how he plays with Rangeview this year.
