Hendricks, as I’ve iterated, is one of the best two-way players in the region.
Can anyone challenge him as the best South Florida player in this class?
Here are my thoughts…
Andrew Akuchie Andrew Akuchie 6'8" | PF St. Thomas Aquinas | 2022 State FL (PH. 33) – St. Thomas Aquinas
2022 Andrew Akuchie Andrew Akuchie 6'8" | PF St. Thomas Aquinas | 2022 State FL has a similar frame to Hendricks. The 6-foot-8 forward is a solid stretch four that can put the ball on the deck and finish at the rim. The Rice commit has the reach to block shots and athleticism to grab rebounds. Could be a bit underrated given St. Thomas Aquinas is more know as a football school.
Kolby King Kolby King 6'2" | PG Pembroke Pines | 2022 State FL – Pembroke Pines Charter (PH. 29)
King has a championship level pedigree after helping the Jaguars win a 5A state championship. The St. John’s commit averaged a team best 16.1 points per game. King has a ton of speed and elusiveness to get to the tin. The 6-foot guard plays well in the halfcourt and can change direction in an instant. King is also a better rebounder than you might think.
Edward Nnamoko Edward Nnamoko 6'10" | C Riviera Prep | 2022 State FL – Riviera Prep (PH. 35)
“Big Ed” lives up to his namesake on the court. The 6-foot-10 power forward is incredibly strong and plays with toughness. Nnamoko has solid touch and can score going from his left or right around the paint. I still think he has more offensive upside, which is scary for opponents. His frame gives him a huge advantage to force his opponent off his position. Deflections and rejections are sure to come of it.
He holds offers from Longwood, Winthrop, Tulsa, Temple, Old Dominion and Samford.
Justin Abson Justin Abson 6'9" | PF North Broward Prep | 2022 State #230 Nation FL – North Broward Prep (PH. 32)
Abson has been so consistent in his time with North Broward Prep. The 6-foot-9 forward will average a double-double and add a handful of blocks. He plays very well with his back to the basket and has power to finish. Abson is a prospect you can rely on every night.
Gregg Glenn Gregg Glenn 6'7" | PF Calvary Christian (FL) | 2022 State #161 Nation FL – Calvary Christian Academy
I’ve been rolling with Glenn since his sophomore year, so there’s no way I could leave him off. The 6-foot-7 forward has improved as a shooter from twelve feet out. His athleticism is elite and electric when left unguarded. Just watch Glenn in transition when he slams home a dunk. Glenn is a Michigan commit.
Others to consider:
Kuran Bryant Kuran Bryant 6'5" | PF Coral Gables | 2022 State FL – Miami High (PH. 70)
Jimel Lane Jimel Lane 6'7" | PF Palmetto | 2022 State FL – Miami Palmetto (PH. 51)
