Jamier Jones Jamier Jones 6'5" | SF Sarasota Riverview | 2025 State #16 Nation FL and Cameron Boozer Cameron Boozer 6'9" | PF Columbus | 2025 State #2 Nation FL will battle for the number one spot in our initial 2025 rankings. This season preview gives us their first matchup of their high school careers, meaning a moment we can use as a tie-breaker down the road. Both freshmen performed well, yet there’s more talent on their respective rosters than just these two phenoms. Let’s break down the matchup and how their teammates performed over the weekend.
The 2025 Battle
Florida’s top 2025 prospects didn’t give us the one-on-one matchups we were expecting. Both scored in double figures and left with enough film for respective highlight tapes.
Jamier Jones Jamier Jones 6'5" | SF Sarasota Riverview | 2025 State #16 Nation FL flexed his athleticism and vertical pop the entire weekend and especially in his matchup with Columbus. The size, length, and potential are obvious for the young wing. Most of his scoring came from dunks, layups, and finishing in transition. He has a good handle for his age, seen mostly in iso sets. Jones’ passing will be something to track as his career progresses. He’s able to drop no look passes on drives that aren’t always converted. On day 2 it was more of the same as Jones continues to score above the rim with three oop dunks and flashing his ability to draw fouls.
Cameron Boozer Cameron Boozer 6'9" | PF Columbus | 2025 State #2 Nation FL penciled in another near double-double performance. He had an efficient 21 points doing most of his damage around the rim as a finisher. He sheds contact, made plays above the rim, and continues to show high-level passing for his position. Boozer’s early versatility shows that have may have a future on the wing while being a force on the block.
Standouts
Jayden Dudash’s calling card this season may be his versatility. Sarasota Riverview doesn’t have a lot of size, so guarding big forwards may fall on his shoulders. He was up for task leaving the weekend with four impactful blocks against Columbus and active defense against University School. During the weekend, he scored all around the court, including a corner three, a mid range step back, and multiple finishes at the rim.
Jason Jackson Jason Jackson 6'4" | CG Sarasota Riverview | 2023 State #136 Nation FL has game-changing athleticism. It’s what fuels his downhill attack and transition scoring. The Prep Hoops Florida top 15 junior has an elite finishing package. He’s coming along as a shooter, especially behind the three point line. Jackson can play aggressive defense and has the speed to recover from gambles.
Senior Peter Goldberg is Riverview’s primary ball handler. His handle is tight, he sees the floor well, and plays a savvy game. Goldberg plays hard. He dives for loose balls and plays physical defense. Because of the number of wings and guards on this team, he plays off the ball. When that happens, he can score as an off the catch shooter or cutter.
Malik Abdullahi Malik Abdullahi 6'6" | SF Columbus | 2024 State FL continues to be an energetic pogo stick. Now listed at 6’7 the forward lives on the offensive boards and thrives on putbacks. He knows how to position himself to finish plays. Riverview tried to make a run late, and it was Abdullahi’s defense that cut it short. He protected the rim, took a charge, and didn’t allow second chance opportunities.
As a freshman shooter, Benny Fragela Benny Fragela 5'11" | SG Columbus | 2025 State FL is as polished as you can ask for. This game showed how well he can come off screens and quickly get his shot off. He knocked a shot down off a flair screen with good footwork. When he’s not shooting, he’s bringing infectious energy to the team. His streak of charges proves he’ll put his body on the line for defensive plays.
Cayden Boozer Cayden Boozer 6'5" | PG Columbus | 2025 State #28 Nation FL is proving to be one of the best playmakers early in his class. He’s a good passer that can turn a scoring opportunity into an assist in several ways. The transition game fueled his scoring early. It’s also where you can see how good of an athlete he is. On the defensive end, he shot the gaps for several steals in Columbus’ lone game.
