The league features 22 JV and Varsity teams from around the Las Vegas area. With this being the first taste of high school action in over a year, it offered an opportunity to evaluate a ton of local players under one roof. In this article, we take a look at some standouts from week 3. (All Fall League Games are Live Streamed and Recorded on the 7outz Channel)
Antonio Burns Antonio Burns 5'10" | PG Legacy | 2025 State NV 5’9 PG Legacy 2025 (featured image) – No one has been able to stay in front of the lefty during the league. He showed a special burst today, blowing by defenders and getting to the rim. If he couldn’t finish or create for others, he was able to draw the foul, get to the line and convert. He finished with 10 points on the day.
Khamari Taylor Khamari Taylor 5'11" | CG Desert Oasis | 2024 State NV 5’11 SG Sierra Vista 2024 (#20PHN 2024) – The more I watch Taylor, the more I like him. Today was no exception. He plays hard and impacts the game in almost every imaginable way. He’s not an elite athlete, but he has a quick second jump which allowed him to grab a ton of boards. He led all scorers with 22 on the day.
Jevon Yapi Jevon Yapi 6'0" | PG Red Rock | 2025 State #379 Nation NV 5’9 PG Durango 2025 – Yapi didn’t look like a freshman today, He played with a good pace while highlighting his ability to make others around him better. The Trailblazers played without many of their regulars, however, It didn’t matter to the 5’9 playmaker. He easily scored the ball, hitting both open 3’s and mid-range jumpers. He finished with 20 points in a victory for Durango.
Tayan Thompson Tayan Thompson 6'4" | SF Cimarron | 2022 State NV 6’4 PF Cimarron 2022 (#28PHN 2022) – Thompson showed why he’s a candidate for 4A player of the year. He played with good patience, all game. Thompson is one of those players that never looks like he’s playing that fast but always seems to be faster than his defender. He used his pull-up game to score, and fought for and won countless in traffic rebounds for his team.
Pharaoh Compton Pharaoh Compton 6'7" | PF Arbor View | 2024 State #74 Nation NV 6’5 PF Spring Valley 2024 (#9PHN 2024) – Compton was worth the price of admission today. He punished the rim with several thunderous dunks. He didn’t just have them in transition, but in the halfcourt as well. His length and explosion were simply too much to handle, for Mojave, but it wasn’t just his offense that impacted the game. The forward used his long arms to block a ton of shots and get several tips and deflections.
Elijah Hart Elijah Hart 5'10" | CG Centennial | 2022 State NV 5’10 PG Centennial 5’10 (#44PHN 2022) – I just love the way Hart carries himself on the floor. He’s the consummate PG that never gets too high or too low, and on Saturday he was even-keeled as always. Hart managed to do all the little things, and then some for his squad, he defended, knocked down open shots, and made some nice pinpoint passes to teammates. He finished with 17 on the day.
