66 players from Arizona and Texas battled it out. 8 teams with 8-9 players each.
Each team played 5 games with a possible All-Star game. The All-Star games lived up to the hype with many coaches walking away impressed with what they saw. The younger talent was pretty obvious.
We take a look at each teams players.
Here was Team Washington State:
Top-20 All-Star game
Cade Holzman Cade Holzman 6'7" | PF Bella Vista Prep | 2022 State AZ Bella Vista Prep
A post grad player from Austin/Texas has a lot to like. He is a bouncy face-up forward who plays hard. He is skilled to the 3pt line off the catch and can get to his spots for a pull-up mid-range jumper. He plays way above the rim and uses his length to block shots and rebound. He can defend inside and out. He will need to fill in more this year but was rated #13 for all 2021 Austin/TX players.
Charles Temple Charles Temple 6'1" | SG Bella Vista Prep | 2022 AZ Bella Vista Prep
A ridiculously strong downhill guard. He has an unreal build/frame at 195 lbs He scores through contact like the defenders are almost not even there. He is a very good rebounder using his physical gifts and he can play way above the rim with power. He is sneaky good passer and he can keep his dribble alive in traffic then power up. As the event went on he started making 3’s but is clearly best getting in the lane.
Top-40 All-Star game
Jonathan Bradford Jonathan Bradford 6'3" | CG Bella Vista Prep | 2024 State AZ Bella Vista Prep
An athletic combo guard who is a good defender. He is a sneaky good passer with advanced court vision. He has quick-twitch reflexes and real length to play the passing lanes and be a menace on the ball. He uses his quick burst to get into the lane to score. He can flush it down on the break.
Top-60 All-Star game
Isaiah Martin SG 6’2 2022 Bella Vista Prep
A downhill scoring guard who can score in traffic. He is mostly right handed, but is good on the glass for a guard for offensive and defensive rebounds. He has a decent shooting stroke from the perimeter.
Jordan Kidd Jordan Kidd 5'5" | PG Chandler | 2024 AZ Bella Vista Prep
An undersized guard with a tight handle and speed. He can create space for himself with his gifts. Then he can launch it from the 3pt line with range. He can rattle them off from downtown and uses his athleticism to defend on the ball.
Kyree Richmond Kyree Richmond 5'7" | CG San Tan Charter | 2023 State AZ San Tan Charter
An undersized strong and stocky scoring guard. He is a known shooter who can get his shot off quickly. He is best off the catch from the 3pt line but can hit the mid and uses his handle to get into the paint. He should be a force in 2A for the Roadrunners.
Only played Monday:
Demetrus Johnson II Demetrus Johnson II 6'0" | PG Bella Vista Prep | 2022 State AZ Bella Vista Prep
A flashy pure PG with a super tight handle. He has a good burst into the lane and is sneaky long to lay it in with either hand. He can hit the open 3 but also creates his own shots off of his shifty handle. He can thread the needle to find teammates.
Aiden Weinheimer SG 6’1 2025 St Andrews/TX
A very young incoming freshman played only Monday night but showed he has a high IQ and good awareness about him and he can shoot. He can hit the 3 off the catch and shows some range on his ball.
