Jack Rose Jack Rose 6'5" | SG Westosha Central | 2022 State #213 Nation WI (6’4 2022 SG, Westosha Central)- Likely the frontrunner for Conference POTY heading into the season, the D1 offered shooting guard can simply light it up from beyond the arc. He shot over 40% from deep last season, with many of those makes coming from well beyond the high school line. Not a lot of schools in this conference have guys 6’4+ that can move their feet with Jack on the perimeter, making him a threat to score every time he touches the ball. You’ll also see him guard opposing post players and scrap for every loose ball.
Tyson Skalecki Tyson Skalecki 6'5" | SF Union Grove H.S. | 2022 WI (6’6 2022 SF, Union Grove)- Tyson started to emerge towards the end of his sophomore year, then had a breakout season averaging 15 ppg on 39% shooting from 3P as a junior last winter. He’s one of the tallest players in the conference but isn’t limited to sitting in the post, as the forward is a danger to light it up from beyond the arc. He has solid mobility and has increased his athleticism over the past two years making him more of a threat to attack the rim off the dribble. Deep sleeper prospect in the 2022 class.
Connor Roffers Connor Roffers 6'5" | SF Burlington | 2024 State WI (6’4 2024 W, Burlington)- Burlington loses their top two scorers from last season, and I think Connor is ready to pick up some of that production as a sophomore. He has good positional size to play the 2 or 3, and is a confident shooter who will make you pay for not keeping a hand up on him. No longer just a catch and shoot threat, Connor can put the ball on the floor to get to his spots in the mid-range, and with his high release point it will be difficult for defenders to contest when he pulls up to shoot.
Kenny Garth Kenny Garth 6'2" | CG Westosha Central | 2022 State WI (6’2 2022 G, Westosha Central)- Kenny could very well be a 20 ppg scorer on a lot of teams, but with his unselfishness and the talent around him, he doesn’t always need to put up big numbers for Central. He has a creative handle combined with explosive athleticism that makes him tough to stop from getting to the rim in transition or half-court settings. Once in the paint he has a flashy lay-up package but also has the vision to drop a dime as soon as a teammate becomes open. Coming off a 13.1 ppg, 3.9 rpg, and 2.6 apg junior season.
JR Lukenbill (6’4 2023 W, Burlington)- Last year as a sophomore there wasn’t much that JR didn’t do for his team. He saw time handling the ball and setting up the offense, but also had the size to guard in the paint. Lukenbill doesn’t force much offensively and is extremely efficient scoring the ball whether he’s using his length to finish at the rim, or his shooting touch to knock down 44% of his threes on the year. He’s a hard working player capable of doing anything his coach asks of him to help the team win.
Ty McGreevy (6’3 2022 G, Badger)- Another deep sleeper in the SLC, Ty offers solid positional size and a calm demeanor on the floor. He’s heading into his fourth season of varsity basketball after averaging 16.4 ppg as a junior. His shooting range extends to well beyond the and he has the frame to get inside and finish.
Devin Griffin Devin Griffin 5'10" | PG Westosha Central | 2022 State WI (6′ 2022 PG, Westosha Central)- The floor general for a team that figures to be among the best in Division 2, Devin is a trusted ball handler and leader for this team. He can score when needed but really excels at getting into the paint for dump off passes or kick outs to open shooters. Devin also provides some vocal leadership and constant effort on the defensive end. Averaged 11 points and 4 assists as a junior.
Erik Cesarz (6’6 2022 PF, Delavan-Darien)- Likely the biggest post presence in the conference, Erik is a physical 6’6 forward who loves to compete in the paint. He can overpower opposing bigs but also has shown flashes of footwork so that he isn’t simply relying on his strength. If defenses don’t throw a double at him you might as well put two points on the board because he scores with that level of efficiency when isolated on the block. Erik is also a constant double-double threat as he rebounds the ball at such a high level.
Danny Kniep Danny Kniep 6'5" | PF Burlington | 2023 WI (6’7 2023 PF, Burlington)- Another physical post presence who figures to have a bit of a breakout season, Danny has some advanced post footwork that makes him hard to stop on the block. He adds in a shooting touch that allows him to operate in the mid-range with efficiency. Defensively he provides a shot blocking threat and also rebounds the ball in bulk.
Brogan Finnegan Brogan Finnegan 6'4" | SG Waterford | 2024 State WI (6’4 2024 SG, Waterford)- Another young prospect to keep an eye on over the next few years, Brogan has some intriguing positional size while providing an outside shooting threat for Waterford. Waterford graduated a lot of their production, so we could see Brogan immediately take on a big role as a sophomore.
Alex Sippy Alex Sippy 6'2" | SG Westosha Central | 2023 State WI (6’1 2023 G, Westosha Central)- Alex played a role off the bench for Central last season, and is fresh off a strong summer with World Hoops Elite 16u. Tons of confidence offensively with crafty finishing ability and a smooth pull-up jumper. Will look to bring an extra scoring punch for a talented Westosha Central team.
