Ryan Blakey Ryan Blakey 5'8" | PG Fairfax Christian | 2022 State VA | Guard | Fairfax Christian (VA) ’22
Blakey is the leader of an up-and-coming Fairfax Christian squad. If the team can maximize its potential, his contributions will be a big reason why. Blakey sets the tone at the point of attack defensively and makes others better on the offensive end.
Darren Buchanan Jr. | Forward | Woodrow Wilson (DC) ’22
Buchanan has been on this list since his sophomore year. Why leave him off now? Expect the versatile unsigned senior to put up monster stat lines while helping his team rack up wins.
Devin Ceaser Devin Ceaser 6'1" | CG St. Stephen's & St. Agnes | 2022 State VA | Guard | St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (VA) ’22
Ceaser has taken the DMV by storm since his decision to reclassify and transfer to SSSAS. He has established a reputation for his toughness, above-the-rim antics, and blazing speed. The Saints’ raucous home crowd will certainly enjoy watching Ceaser perform at the Sleepy Thompson.
Devin Dinkins Devin Dinkins 5'10" | PG Gonzaga | 2022 State MD | Guard | Gonzaga (DC) ’22
Dinkins has as much experience as any guard you’ll find in the area. He’s been a key part of Coach Turner’s rotation since his freshman year, but his senior year will require him to carry a much bigger load than in previous years. We believe the George Mason commit will consistently deliver the goods.
Kyle Honore Kyle Honore 5'10" | PG Potomac | 2022 State VA | Guard | Potomac (VA) ’22
Honore is poised for a breakout senior campaign. Potomac is a top program in the state perenially, and he is one of the better guards you’ll find in the DMV. Honore will probably find himself among the area’s leaders in made treys.
Ifanieye Lewis Ifanieye Lewis 6'0" | PG Eleanor Roosevelt | 2022 State MD | Guard | Eleanor Roosevelt (MD) ’22
Lewis is next in the lineage of successful hoopers to come out of Eleanor Roosevelt. He is one of the tougher perimeter defenders you’ll find in the region. The Raiders are generally one of the teams to beat in PG county and Lewis will be one of the main reasons why.
Dug McDaniel | Guard | Paul VI (VA) ’22
Will McDaniel be the DMV’s assist king this year? Probably. The Panthers’ magnificent playmaker has improved as a scorer, but his instinctive ability to get teammates open shots is quite remarkable.
Rodney Rice Rodney Rice 6'4" | CG DeMatha | 2022 State #89 Nation MD | Guard | DeMatha (MD) ’22
Rice is one of two Stags who have a strong case to make the All-Met First Team. DeMatha is looking like the team to beat in the WCAC. Rice will probably be one of their main contributors all across the board. If those predictions hold true, he will be a virtual lock to make the list.
Saxby Sunderland Saxby Sunderland 6'2" | CG Flint Hill | 2022 State VA | Guard | Flint Hill (VA) ’22
Sunderland is our pick to represent the MAC. The Huskies will be one of the teams to beat in the conference and Flint Hill’s dynamic lead guard might be a focal point of opposing coaches’ gameplans. Sunderland has put up huge stats all across the board in previous years and he’s shown no signs of slowing down.
Tyrell Ward Tyrell Ward 6'7" | SF DeMatha | 2022 State #56 Nation MD | Wing | DeMatha (MD) ’22
Ward emerged as one of the most improved players in the DMV last season. His stock has been on a steady uptick ever since, and with DeMatha tabbed as the favorite in the WCAC, he is naturally a player of the year candidate.
