Jacob Martin Jacob Martin 6'0" | PG Millard North | 2023 State NE | Omaha South | 6’1 G
Quite possibly the most dominant game after game performance was Jacob Martin Jacob Martin 6'0" | PG Millard North | 2023 State NE . A big name to remember for this upcoming season, the highlight of Martin’s game is how easy it is for him to get by defenders and score at the rim. With the ball, he doesn’t do a ton of dancing, more so a dribble combo or two and go. His touch around the rim is second to none. He was constantly drawing fouls and finishing some tough layups at the rim all night long. He has tremendous lateral quickness on the defensive hands and keeps hands in passing lanes.
Zeb Svoboda Zeb Svoboda 6'2" | SG Omaha Burke | 2023 State NE | Omaha Burke | 6’0 G
Svoboda was another very consistent guard. It started with how well he handled pressure. He remained under control and played at his pace. He took high percentage jumpers and was a drive threat. Zeb is a strong finisher at the rim and a threat from beyond the arc.
T"Andre Perkins | Omaha South | 6’5 G
Another Omaha South guard standout from the expo, Perkins was a highlight reel in Elkhorn on Sunday. Standing at 6’5 he utilizes the height advantage on smaller guards. His finishing ability is already one of his greatest strengths already, but he can do against bigs too. He was constantly rising up, dunking and finishing above his defenders. Very good court vision and solid rebounder on both sides of the ball.
Colin Nick | Lincoln High | 6’5 F
One of the few pure bigs at the expo, Nick dominated the paint and also knocked quite a few shots from the perimeter. I would almost consider him a stretch four. He’s a very mobile big and was able to stretch the floor well for his team. Great rebounder and finishes very well in the paint. With him being able to knock down the three, he will open up opportunities a lot of opportunities for not only him but his teammates at Lincoln High this upcoming winter.
Jeron Gager | Ogallala | 5’11 G
Although Gager wasn’t the tallest guard at the expo he may have been the quickest. He’s got a great handle and his attacks are even better. He’s a one move and go guy. He doesn’t waste time dancing around. He is aggressive on his drives and fearless at the rim. He has great foul drawing ability when going up against a big in the paint. Had some very crazy finishes on Sunday, was very consistent at the rim.
