While there is a lot of parity across the state there will be a few teams that will have that bullseye on their backs. The RPI has actually been really good as of now. Nobody has really complained about it as of now. It seems to pair everyone up correctly. Although it is not perfect it seems to have worked out for the most part across every classification.
1A Pre-Season Rankings
- Panguitch (22-5) – The returning 1A State Champions will be the team to beat 6’5 Kyler Bennett Kyler Bennett 6'6" | C Panguitch | 2022 State UT is back and he was the leading scorer last season. Look for him to dominate again as he has size and skill across the board. 6’2 Tucker Chapell will also be another bright spot for the Bobcats. Panguitch returns a lot of solid players across the board. They are well coached and they have a winning culture.
- Bryce Valley (22-4) – Bryce Valley graduates a lot of players but they have a balanced attack and they have a next up type of mentality. 6’0 Brock Syrett will be the leading scorer coming back. He will be the player the team leans on while they get everyone else going.
- Wendover (15-6) – Orlando Alvarez is going to be the focal point of the team as Wendover looses their two top scorers but they will be fine. They play an up and down tempo and they will be able to compete against anyone.
- Piute (14-8) – Gavin Morgan is poised to have a great year. He scores the ball well inside and out and he is shifty. They have the firepower to win it all. 6’1 Jaden Westwood Jaden Westwood 6'2" | SG Piute | 2022 State UT will also be a major contributor
- Mount Vernon (12-7) – Mount Vernon had a solid year last season and they look to build on that this season. 5’9 Matt Lambson had himself a year last season and as he returns for his sophomore season look for more of that this year. The kid can score. He his 69 three’s last season and he could go off for 80. Keep an eye out for him in 1A.
