The strength of this class is in the PG position, with several players flirting with being ranked Nationally. In this article, we take a look at the top Point Guards in the class.
Mason Brown Mason Brown 6'1" | PG Durango | 2025 CA-S 6’1 PG Durango (#1) – Brown is the quintessential floor general. Although only a freshman, he plays the game with an advanced IQ. His understanding of time score and situation is elite, and he uses the mid-range jumper to perfection. Brown uses his size to get to his spot and raise up over outstretched opponents.
Jevon Yapi Jevon Yapi 6'0" | PG Red Rock | 2025 State #379 Nation NV 5’8 PG Durango (#3) – I first covered Yapi when he was in middle school. The PG is one of the most entertaining players to come into high school in recent memory. He has the deadly combination of elite handle and vision. Yapi is the kind of player that would have people climbing fences at Rucker Park. He and Brown form the backcourt of the future for the Trailblazers.
Antonio Burns Antonio Burns 5'10" | PG Legacy | 2025 State NV 5’9 Legacy (#9) – Burns is a candidate for my all-showtime team. No matter how long I go between seeing him, he manages to put on a show whenever I’m in attendance. The PG has elite blow-by ability, making him capable of getting consistent paint touches. The lefty is a tough scoring PG that has learned how to use runners and floaters to get his shot off over bigs in the paint.
Miles Williams Miles Williams 6'0" | PG Mater East | 2025 State NV 5’9 Rancho (#15) – Williams has good speed and quickness. He’s one of the fastest players with the ball in his hands from end to end. What impresses me most about his game, is his IQ. Williams has a good understanding of P&R offense, and the vision and accuracy to deliver pinpoint passes to rollers or score for himself.
EJ Dacuma EJ Dacuma 5'9" | PG Sierra Vista | 2025 State NV 5’9 PG Sierra Vista (#12) (featured image) – Dacuma is the kind of PG that winning teams need. He has a high skill level, including a tight handle, and range out to the 3 point line. His best trait is his ticker. The 5’9 PG plays with heart and always seems to come up with winning plays for his team.
Jaden Riley Jaden Riley 6'1" | PG Liberty | 2025 State NV 6’1 PG Bonanza (#18) – Riley is one of the best passers in the class. The PG has big-time vision and a knack for delivering on time and on target passes to teammates. There’s no wasted motion with Riley, as he’s the type of player that makes it easier for teammates because of his willingness to get the ball out of his hands and into the hands of scorers when they’re open.
Prince Davis Prince Davis 5'10" | PG Desert Pines | 2025 State NV 5’9 Desert Pines (#21) – Davis is one of the top shooters in the class. The PG may also have the most range. He shoots the ball effortlessly from deep behind the line. Davis is good at using hesitations and pump fakes to keep defenders off balance, freeing him up for shooting 3’s.
Tayshaun Jackson Tayshaun Jackson 5'7" | PG Las Vegas | 2025 State NV 5’5 Las Vegas (#27) – I think the appropriate nickname for Jackson should be tough juice. Despite his size, he gives an inch to no one. Jackson, who plays cornerback on the football field is a lock down on-ball defender. He’s always down to scrap for loose balls and wins more than his fair share. Jackson is a floor burn waiting to happen, as it’s not uncommon to see him on the ground securing a possession for his team.
Casen Lochridge Casen Lochridge 5'7" | PG Mojave | 2025 State NV 5’7 Mojave (#25) – Lochridge is one of the better defenders in the class. The 5’7 PG has the ability to cut off the head of the snake, with his ability to take away opposing ballhandlers. He has terrific vision on the offensive end and is a willing passer who can create scoring opportunities for his teammates.
Jakoi Lide Jakoi Lide 5'11" | PG Rancho | 2025 State NV 5’6 Rancho (#31) – Lide has a signature skill and that’s his strap. The PG has in the gym range, stretching defenses with his ability to shoot it from deep. He has good quickness, and the ability to score around the rim with a variety of floaters.
