Our goal will be to get coverage for as many of the participants as possible so be on the lookout for articles throughout the week from our staff with coverage on the hoopers in attendance. The 250 Expo KC held at Hy-Vee Arena on Oct. 3 brought together some of the top high school talent across Kansas and Missouri. The style of play and abundance of talent made it hard for some players to stand out.
Jayden Brown Jayden Brown 5'7" | PG Andover Central | 2025 State KS , 5’7 PG, Andover Central, Team 8, 2025 (Pictured): Brown was a point guard that made plays to stand out and as a 2025 player, had to find a way to get him on some coverage. Has some big time handle, shifty and crafty with the ball in his hands. With the play style on the day, he was able to still make the most of his opportunities with the ball. A future name to keep an eye on for sure.
Blake Kilian Blake Kilian 6'6" | SF Blue Valley West | 2024 State KS , 6’4, Blue Valley West, Team 3: A solid athlete who played really hard on the night which allowed him to make things happen on the boards, clean up opportunities, and get solid opportunities on looks. Has a chance to be a really solid forward with a solid foundation of skill to go with his high effort. Played with a couple of other really talented “4” men this weekend.
Jacob Padilla Jacob Padilla 5'7" Hayden | 2024 KS , 5’6 PG, Hayden, Team 1: Got to handle a lot of PG duties for his team on the day. When he was able to keep himself under control he was able to get in gaps off the bounce and make some solid passes for assists. Creates some space out on the perimeter off the dribble to get some solid shot opportunities as well. Pretty quick in transition as well and had a couple of nice finishes in traffic.
Blake Rucker Blake Rucker 6'3" | SG Andover | 2024 State KS , 6’2 G, Andover, Team 3: Has a really solid frame on him now and played really solid on the night. Looked poised on the floor on the offensive side of the floor, got out and pushed the tempo, and made the most of his opportunities with the ball. Looks like he is rounding out to be a very solid combo guard type of prospect.
