6’5 F Avery Pauole, Baldwin HS (HI) | 2023
Big body, but mobile. Avery did a good job of contesting shots at the rim and also sliding his feet on the perimeter. He guarded bigger guys on the block and battled; didn’t give them anything easy. Offensively he attacked his matchup whenever he could. He has a soft touch in the paint on floaters and finishes around the rim. He was a big target when rolling after screens. I didn’t see him hit many three’s but he consistently knocked down that 15-18ft jumper, both off the dribble and off the short roll pass. He showed some decent ball handling skills on catches in the pinch post; nice drives around bigger defenders to finish at the rim.
6’4 SF Kahiau Bruhn, Kamehameha Kapalama HS (HI) | 2022
Bruhn has a solid game all around. He didn’t do anything overly exciting at the event but was consistent every game. He played hard, didn’t complain about anything, and just hooped. He has a smooth shot and hit multiple spot-up threes. He also showed nice touch by hitting countless paint jumpers. He has long arms and battled bigger players inside for rebounds.
6’4 SF Ajani “AJ” Reid, Murrieta Mesa HS (CA) | 2023
AJ is an aggressive slasher. He puts his shoulder into the defender’s chest and drives through them. He has a solid handle, but it’s really his physicality that gets him by defenders. He showed his shooting touch at the event too. Capable from three but relies more on his midrange game. He had a pull-up middy in transition, and also a spin pivot into a fadeaway that looked fluid and natural.
6’3 SG Jeremiah White, Rainier Beach HS (WA) | 2024
Long, wirey frame. He covers ground fast with his length and does a good job stretching out for finishes when attacking the rim. He showed his ability to handle the ball and create for himself and others. Not sure how much of a shooter he is because I didn’t see him take a jumper. He has the potential to be an elite defender. He’s quick with long arms and good anticipation skills. Good upside.
