Class of 2025
Bryce Heard (Kenwood)
Heard comes into the season as the preseason favorite to be the top player in the class. He should be a microwave scorer that can play right from the jump for a loaded Kenwood squad. Great positional size and length at 6’6” already. Slick scorer that got to the hoop at will off the bounce slithering through the defense finishing with euro steps while knocking down shots at a super high rate from three especially in the top 30 game.
Melvin Bell (St. Rita)
Bell is definitely in the conversation for the top freshman in the state. Projectable and rangy frame that he can continue to grow into. He has such an easy explosion to his game rising up for dunks making it look easy. High points rebounds and showed some upside as on the ball player with his distribution skills.
Aleks Alston (Kenwood)
Really intrigued with the long term potential of this Kenwood 6’6” combo forward. The lefty is super skilled being able to operate from a number of different areas on the floor. Good passer and is a more than capable shot maker from the perimeter. Defensive versatility.
Ian Miletic (Rolling Meadows)
Miletic might put himself in the conversation for the top spot when it is all said and done if his game continues to develop. At 6’5” he is a point-forward with off the charts passing flair. He is so much fun to watch in the open floor with pushing and getting others involved. Clean looking jumper that he drained from all over the place. Plus shooter with the chance to get even better!
Antonio Munoz (Whitney Young)
Munoz has everything it takes to be a high-major guy down the line. Big and strong wing athlete that can impact the game on both ends of the floor. As the camp went on the skill started to come along. He was at his best in the top 30 game where attacked with bounce, hit turnaround jumpers, good passing, and even knocked in a three. Has a chance to be an elite defender.
Colby Smith (New Trier)
This 6’0” point guard broke on our radar a few weeks back at the Hoops 4 Health Combine and showed up again with another strong outing. He is a high IQ guard that has an advanced feel for the game. Crafty finisher in the lane with reverse layups. Should develop into a nice prospect down the line.
Jonas Johnson (DePaul Prep)
Really liked this post from DePaul Prep. The 6’5” power forward was very skilled on the block with hook shots and short jumpers. Good mobility getting up and down the floor along with flashing some face up skills. Very interested to see where his game progresses this season.
Lorenzo Shields (Simeon)
Shields jumped on our radar with a consistent two days at Pangos. At 6’1” this lead guard has a really nice passing feel getting others involved along with being a nice shooting threat draining shots from 15 feet out to three. Could be an impactful guard for the Wolverines down the line.
Mikai Harris (St. Rita)
Small point guard at only 5’7” Harris is a left-handed sniper from deep as he hit some big shots throughout the event including step backs.
Dominic Hale (Providence St. Mel)
This 5’10” point guard is a smaller guard who is a slick ball handler getting in the lane for layups.
Alexander Vincent (OPRF)
Vincent stands at 6’7” with a wide body. The five man is a guy that likes to play around the hoop using his frame to move bodies especially rebounding well in his area.
Samuel Hirsh (Fremd)
Hirsh is a 6’1” shooting guard with a long and rangy frame. He has a nice skill set and always seemed to be around the ball making plays.
Keyshawn Barfield (Lincoln Park)
This 6’8” post is a work in progress, but we did see some potential tools to work with down the line starting with his height and frame.
Amari Edwards (St. Rita)
Smaller point guard at 5’7” that was a spark plug pushing it and hitting shots from deep on occasion.
Alexander Gossett (OPRF)
OPRF two guard has good size at 6’3” on the perimeter and showcased a solid mid-range game at the camp.
Anestis Hadjistamoulou (Glenbrook South)
Point guard who checks in at 5’11” with a crafty handle, crisp passing, and an overall skilled game.
Vincas Buzelis (Hinsdale Central)
This 6’3” wing is the younger brother of Matas. The incoming freshman has a strong frame and a solid skill set as he hit a three and crashed the offensive glass for a put back in the game we saw.
Jamarion Bardwell (Sacred Heart Griffin)
Heady 5’8” point guard from central Illinois that should see minutes on a pretty good central Illinois squad. Hit some mid-range shots when we were watching.
Marshall Gehrke Marshall Gehrke 6'3" | SF Antioch | 2025 IL (Antioch)
Caught this 6’3” wing at the UIC team camp over the summer and saw some tools to work with. Felt the same after seeing him at Pangos. Good frame and athleticism. Raw athlete that needs to improve his skill level, but brings a motor and rebounds.
Jabarie Brown (Curie)
Smaller point guard from the CPS power this 5’8” point guard was electric as a shooter from three as he hit them in bunches in the game we caught on Sunday.
Joshua Pettigrew (Fenwick)
At 6’4” this power forward has a projectable body that he should be able to grow into height wise and strength wise. Rebounded on the offensive glass and made a couple quick passes.
Class of 2026
Tim Winkler (All Saints Middle School)
I had been introduced to Winkler by his trainer over the summer and he told me this was the next one. He was right! In my first look at this 8th grader we came away extremely impressed. The 6’8” power forward went to work on Saturday looking like the best prospect on the floor. He ran the floor with such ease. Handled it being able to finish with euro steps and made quick post moves. Looked comfortable stretching the floor hitting multiple threes and is a shot blocking presence. Long way to go but it is hard to imagine there being a better 2026 in Illinois.
