James Brown James Brown 6'9" | C Link Academy (from Chicago) | 2024 #66 Nation MO (St. Rita)
Brown sets at the top of the 2024 class and showed why at Pangos. The five man was dominant in just about every fashion possible earning co-MVP honors. Overall he just played with such a high motor that it translated into every single thing that he did. Rebounded well on both ends pushing off defensive boards showing improved handles. Around the hoop it was skilled and powerful post moves for scores and if he missed was quick to the glass for second chance points. Ran the floor with a purpose. Dominant defensive presence blocking shots and intimidating on the interior. Elite high-major prospect.
Morez Johnson Morez Johnson 6'9" | PF Thornton | 2024 State #33 Nation IL (St. Rita)
Johnson is making a run at his teammate Brown for the top spot in the 2024 class. He has all the tools you could ask for in a young power forward. Broad shoulders, length, and elite athleticism. So explosive finishing around the hoop. He used a combination of bully ball and athleticism to overwhelm his opponent on Saturday in one of the best single game performances we have ever seen at Pangos. Excellent rebounder, mobile defender, and has an emerging face up game. Runs the floor about as well as anyone regardless of position. High-majors get in NOW!
Jaheem Webber Jaheem Webber 6'9" | C Normal Community | 2024 State #300 Nation IL (Normal Community)
Webber was a surprise on Sunday as he didn’t play the first day. He was absolutely dominant in his second day of action. The Normal Community post is a top 10 prospect and played up to that ranking in all three games we saw. Strong body that seemed trimmed down. He was a force on the glass while going to work scoring on the block. Hook shots and combination moves. Also hit some mid-range face up jumpers. Altered shots on the defensive end. Looked every bit the part of a mid-major plus guy with high-major potential.
Calvin Robins Jr Calvin Robins Jr 6'5" | PF Kenwood | 2024 State IL (Kenwood)
Robbins did at Pangos what he brought all spring and summer! Bounce and energy! One of the highest motor players in the class the Kenwood four man is so quick to the offensive glass for second chance points and excels at finishing above the rim with dunks. How high his college stock will rise will depend on his skill development.
Jaden Smith Jaden Smith 6'10" | C Kenwood | 2024 State IL (Lincoln Park)
Smith had an excellent second day at Pangos. In a class full of star big men he has one of the highest upsides of them all. High level shot blocker that swatted shots repeatedly. Rebounded well and the offensive package is so intriguing. Flashes touch and feel around the hoop, runs the floor with fluidity, and has the chance to be a pick/pop threat from three.
Taevion Collier Taevion Collier 6'6" | PF Curie | 2024 State IL (Curie)
Collier was a bit up and down on Saturday. Physically built four man with broad shoulders. Struggled to score, but did a nice job on the glass snatching rebounds in traffic with his strong hands.
Jason Jakstys Jason Jakstys 6'10" | C Yorkville | 2024 State #141 Nation IL (Yorkville)
Jakstys was the breakout player of the camp for many. We ranked him based off what we saw in July and the 6’8” five man lived up to that ranking with his play at Pangos. He was a force on the defensive end as one of the top rim protectors at the event. Mobile defender that can move on the perimeter as well. Offensively he has sound footwork down low with a nice hook shot and some face up potential.
Ameer Morrow (Simeon)
Morrow is the younger brother of former Simeon star Ed Morrow. He has some similarities to him with his high end motor and activity level. Bouncy around the hoop crashing the offensive glass for second chance points and is an impactful defender.
Kenric Mosby (Simeon)
Mosby is a 6’7” post that jumped on our radar with his play at Pangos. Long and rangy five that brings athletic pop to the table. One to track long term.
Zavier Fitch (Brother Rice)
At 6’6” this four man from Brother Rice screams upside! Broad shoulders and a projectable body. Rebounded pretty well, but one to track with his long term potential.
Parker Sulaver Parker Sulaver 6'6" | PF Benet Academy | 2024 State IL (Benet)
Sulaver is a thick bodied combo forward that presents skill as a face up four. Cuts to the hoop and is fundamentally sound!
