Hendersonville: Keenan Wilkins Keenan Wilkins 5'11" | PG Christ School | 2024 State NC (2023) and Dwight Canady Dwight Canady 6'0" | CG Hendersonville | 2022 State NC (2022)
Wilkins and Canady are two of the toughest scoring guards in the state and they’re on the same team at Hendersonville High where they finished the year in the Top 10 scoring in the state. Wilkins put up 23.8 ppg, 4.2 spg, 3.2 rpg and 2.1 apg while Canady posted 22.3 ppg and 6.5 rpg. They’re a duo that will look to terrorize opposing backcourts once again in 2021-22.
North Surry: Jahreece Lynch Jahreece Lynch 6'2" | CG North Surry | 2023 State NC and James McCreary James McCreary 6'1" | SG North Surry | 2023 State NC (2023s)
Lynch and McCreary are another formidable back court in the state that went 6-5 in 2020-21, but they were just growing pains as Lynch put up 19.3 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 4.1 spg and 2.8 apg through eight contests and McCreary finished with 19.6 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 2.4 apg, 1.8 spg and 1.1 bpg. They’re two underrated names that should be good together in 2021-22.
First Flight: Isaac Dobie Isaac Dobie 6'3" | SG First Flight | 2023 State NC (2023) and Cason Smith Cason Smith 5'11" | CG First Flight | 2022 NC (2022)
Dobie and Smith should headline the state’s highest-scoring offensive squad over the past few seasons. They averaged 56.8 ppg this past season with Dobie averaging 23.5 ppg on 56 percent shooting fro behind the arc and Smith shooting 49 percent behind the arc to the tune of 6.6 ppg. Smith’s production should grow in 2021-22.
St. Paul’s: Jeyvian Tatum Jeyvian Tatum 6'3" | CG St Paul's | 2022 State NC and Josh Henderson Josh Henderson 5'11" | CG St. Paul's | 2022 State NC (2022s)
Tatum and Henderson should be quite the 1-2 combination for St. Paul’s after leading the way in 2020-21. Tatum averaged 15.9 ppg while Henderson put up 11.9 ppg at the lead guard spot. They’re two veterans that will need to work together to find success. Henderson did manage to shoot 12-of-14 (86 percent from behind the arc in 2020-21, which is something to keep an eye on in his senior year.
West Caldwell: Jakobe Hood Jakobe Hood 6'1" | CG West Caldwell | 2023 State NC and Malek Patterson Malek Patterson 6'3" | SF West Caldwell | 2023 State NC (2023s)
Hood and Patterson took things into their own hands in 2020-21 as hey went 8-3 and made last year’s state tournament playoffs. They’re two talented guards that do a variety of things well. Hood posted 17.5 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 2.9 spg and 2.5 apg while Patterson did the dirty work in the paint, posting 17.4 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 3.4 spg and 1.9 apg. They should be a talented duo once again in 2021-22.
