One of these highlights of Let’s Get Ready V will be the King of the Hill competition. There’s a lot of pride on the line here, as players will square up 1-on-1 and go at it. Let’s take a look at some players that could contend for the King of the Hill title.
Amari Allen Amari Allen 6'2" | PG Hamtramck | 2023 State MI (2023, Hamtramck)
Allen is a beast defensively. Probably one of the best in the state. He’s going to make his opponents earn every bucket.
Ashton Atwater Ashton Atwater 6'0" | CG Otsego | 2022 State MI (2022, Otsego)
After what we saw at the Top 250, Atwater should be considered a favorite. Tune in, trust me.
Kendall Bentley Kendall Bentley 6'2" | SG River Rouge | 2024 State MI (2024, River Rouge)
Bentley is a tough athlete that can create and execute from the mid range. He’ll be a tough out in King of the Hill.
Jalen Davis Jalen Davis 6'1" | CG South Lake | 2022 State MI (2022, South Lake)
Don’t let Davis sneak up on you. His quickness and physicality will make him a threat.
Trey Kolakovich Trey Kolakovich 5'10" | CG Croswell-Lexington | 2023 State MI (2023, Croswell-Lexington)
Kolakovich’s speed and second step burst could be really tough to stop in this event.
Zachary Kroetsch Zachary Kroetsch 6'2" | PG Croswell-Lexington | 2023 State MI (2023, Croswell-Lexington)
Kroetsch is a real threat in King of the Hill. He can create his own looks at the rim and shoots at a high percentage.
Donovan McDonald Donovan McDonald 6'7" | PF Croswell-Lexington | 2023 State MI (2023, Croswell-Lexington)
McDonald has some length and a lot of bounciness for his opponents to content with. He could get a lot of 2nd chance possessions.
Brennan McKenzie Brennan McKenzie 6'0" | PG Adrian | 2023 FL (2023, Adrian)
His defense has looked tremendous over the last month or so and even in King of the Hill……Defense can win championships.
Grady Nash Grady Nash 6'5" | PF Imlay City | 2022 State MI (2022, Imlay City)
Nash has the size, strength, and ball skills to make a very serious run at the King of the Hill title.
Anthony Ribel Anthony Ribel 6'3" | SG Traverse City Central | 2024 State MI (2024, Traverse City Central)
Ribel has had an terrific summer season. His ability to shoot with range and also finish under the rim in traffic should transfer well to this event.
Tyler Robertson Tyler Robertson 6'0" | PG Ida | 2023 State MI (2023, Ida)
Robinson is a multi level scorer that can handle the ball. That’s a great combo in King of the Hill.
EJ Ryans EJ Ryans 6'4" | SG Northview | 2024 State #224 Nation MI (2024, Northview)
Ryans should be considered a VERY real threat to win this. Ryans seems to always get high percentage looks.

Singleton is a grinder that’s just nasty with the ball. His first step speed will be tough to stop.

Struck’s versatile game and high basketball IQ could take him a long ways in this part of Let’s Get Ready.
Tyran Thomas Tyran Thomas 6'4" | SG Northview | 2023 State MI (2023, Northview)
Thomas is one of the better pure athletes in the state. That’s tough to beat in a King of the Hill setting.
Brady Titus Brady Titus 5'10" | PG Tri-Unity Christian | 2022 State MI (2022, Tri-Unity Christian)
He has to be one of the favorites. Titus is an old fashioned bucket getter at the highest level.
MJ Yeager MJ Yeager 5'10" | PG Saginaw Nouvel Catholic Central | 2024 State MI (2024, Saginaw Nouvel)
Yeager can light it up from behind the arc. If he starts feeling it, that can be a game changer in this event.
