About Dix: A dominant two-way player who has committed to play his college ball at Iowa, Dix is an efficient three-level scorer who does a great job utilizing his length to impact the game on the defensive end of the floor as well. His career shooting splits of 53-42-74 should just how efficient a scorer he is, and it’s because he allows the game to come to him. He doesn’t force anything and knows when he needs to take over as a scorer late in games. A high IQ player with a strong all-around skill set, he’ll be an immediate impact player for Fran McCaffery.
Why he can win Mr. Basketball: He’s a dominant two-way player on a team with sky-high expectations, and his career numbers will be really strong as he should surpass the 1,500 points and 500 rebounds milestones. This is probably a three-horse race this year, with Dix and Ames guard Tamin Lipsey Tamin Lipsey 6'2" | PG Ames | 2022 State #163 Nation IA slightly ahead of Boyden-Hull wing Tanner Te Slaa Tanner Te Slaa 6'5" | SF Boyden-Hull | 2022 State IA heading into the year. This race may come down to which 4A player, Dix or Lipsey, leads his team further in the postseason. We have Ames ranked #1 to open the year, and CBAL #2, so the race should be fascinating to track all year long.
