With the season about to start, it is now a good time as any to preview the players that will be showcasing their talents all year. Today, we take a look at a few 2022 PFs to watch for.
Matt Spears Matt Spears 6'7" | PF Arsenal Tech | 2022 State IN – 6’7 – Arsenal Tech: Spears is a long and lanky power forward that plays like classic 4 that can stretch the floor a little as well. Over the spring/summer it seemed like more and more coaches took notice of him with an offer from Tulane coming around late April. He is a low-major player based on size and skill. Arsenal Tech is bound to have a very good squad this year which will give Spears a lot more opportunities to have coaches looking at him. Expecting a big year for Spears here.
Marial Puou Marial Puou 6'7" | PF Brebeuf Jesuit | 2022 State IN – 6’7 – Brebeuf Jesuit: Puou transferred into Indiana from Illinois and has already got a lot of eyes on him. He will be coming into a already loaded Brebeuf Jesuit team and should make an impact almost instantly. He is a true post defender with so much natural athleticism that playing around the rim comes easy for him right now. Since coming into Indiana, he gained an offer from Huntington with more surely to come soon. A new name and face to keep an eye on this season.
Eli Edwards Eli Edwards 6'6" | PF Northwestern | 2022 State IN – 6’6 – Northwestern: Edwards is as true of a post that you will get out of almost any power forward in the 2022 class. Always displays excellent footwork and is a consistent finisher around the rim. He comes into this season as Northwestern’s most reliable player with a chance to take his game to that next level. Small colleges should love this guy based on his size and fundamentals alone. Strongly feel Edwards is in for a breakout senior season.
Sean Paige Sean Paige 6'8" | C Anderson | 2022 State IN – 6’8 – Anderson: Paige is a move-in from Illinois to Anderson and made an immediate impact for EG10 2022 this past summer. Very physical, athletic forward that is great around the post on both ends. Has schools already showing interest in him since the move with an offer from D2 Clark Atlanta University already there. There is expected to be tons of schools at all levels to be interested in this transfer and he has the skill to back it up. Paige is one of the more interesting prospects this season for sure.
Antonio Lisenbee Jr. – 6’7 – Arsenal Tech: Lisenbee Jr. was one of the bigger in-state transfers coming into an already loaded Arsenal Tech team from playing at North Central the past few years. Very versatile player on both ends and pairs it well with his elite athleticism. He still has more to develop with his overall game but the upside there for him is through the roof and has a ton of college coaches very interested in him. He should slide in very nicely to an already established Arsenal Tech team and bring that dominance he should this summer. So much potential in Lisenbee.
