The event featured some of Southern California’s top high school programs including: Santa Ana Mater Dei, Damien, Rancho Christian, Colony, St. Anthony, Fountain Valley, Eastvale Roosevelt, Gardena Serra, and more. In this piece we take a look at some of the top performers of the event.
Amaree Abram Amaree Abram 6'4" | PG Southern California Academy | 2022 CA-S , Southern California Academy – Abram is a crafty left-handed point guard who pulls all the right strings for Southern California Academy. The class of 2022 prospect, who is committed to Texas A&M, excels in the open floor where he uses his change of speeds and direction to knife through the defense and finish at the rim or create for others. Abram has a high basketball IQ and knows how to control the pace of a game.
Roddie Anderson Roddie Anderson 6'1" | PG Fountain Valley | 2022 State CA-S , Fountain Valley – Anderson has continued to up his production each of his three years at Fountain Valley. Now, as the 6-foot-2 point guard heads into his senior year as the main guy on a team expected to be very good, he’s taken his aggressive attacking mentality to another level. Anderson is difficult to keep in front when he gets downhill because of his speed, strength and ability to stay on balance while finishing through contact. Anderson has improved his jump shot and is now a threat off of the one-dribble pull-up.
Carter Bryant, Fountain Valley – Bryant is perhaps the most promising underclass prospect in the Western United States. At 6-feet-7, pushing 6-feet-8, he’s a smooth and fluid athlete with ball skills and a consistent shooting stroke out to the three-point line. Bryant has shown the ability to operate out of the mid-post where he can back down and shoot over small defenders or draw a double team and make a high IQ pass to an open cutter or shooter.
Jayden Bush Jayden Bush 6'0" | PG St. Anthony | 2022 CA-S , St. Anthony – Bush continues to solidify himself as a legitimate Division II level point guard who might be making a case for some Division I looks with his improved three-point shooting touch. The 6-foot left-handed senior has been known as the consummate floor general and tough-minded presence who isn’t afraid of any match-up, and while he’s still in that mold, he’s added some offensive punch to his killer instinct.
