The Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo took place in Elkhorn, NE, on a beautiful sunny afternoon at the Union Bank & Trust Sports Complex. This expo showcases some of Nebraska’s top high school basketball talent for college recruiting weeks before the season begins. Below are the names of student-athletes that showed they are eager to reach the next level after high school.
Eli Robinson Eli Robinson 6'5" | PF Bellevue East | 2023 State NE Guard/Forward • Jr. • 6’ 5″ • 180 lbs • Bellevue East Chieftains (Pictured Above)
Eli is the type of player that can play the guard or forward position. He is team-orientated in his approach and can put the ball on the floor and finish above the rim. Robinson has a picture-perfect release on his jump shot. He comes off of screens confident he will make the shot. Eli is a very unselfish player. He understands how important it is to swing the ball to an open teammate, to keep the team chemistry streaming. Robinson is an active offensive and defensive rebounder. On defense, his 6’5″ frame can keep pressure in the passing lanes and a hand in a shooter’s face. Eli is an “A+” student that takes his education seriously.
T"Andre Perkins Forward • Jr. • 6’ 5″ • 190 lbs • Omaha South Packers
T’Andre is by far one of the most improved players in Class A action. Currently a forward but, he has been putting in extra time working on guard fundamentals to get ready for the next level. He is very athletic, so athletic that when he fills the lanes on a fast break it will result in the opponent being dunked on even thru contact. Perkins plays the game with a team-first mindset and doesn’t force shots, therefore, he is able to keep his teammates in rhythm as well. Great rebounder and on-the-ball defender. T’Andre is excellent in the classroom on top of everything just mentioned. Another “A+” student-athlete. He wants to attend the University of Texas.
Jacob Martin Jacob Martin 6'0" | PG Millard North | 2023 State NE Point Guard/ Shooting Guard • Jr. • 6’ 1″ • 160 lbs • Omaha South Packers
Jacob is a shifty point guard who is very exciting to watch. He can drive by defenders effortlessly for a score or “throw a dime” to a wide-open teammate. Martin has a quick release on his jump-shot that is constantly improving day by day. The 6’1″ junior can shoot on or off the dribble from deep and mid-range. On defense, he can lock down other guards. When he is 100% tuned in (which seems to be all the time), he shows he can really play the game of basketball. Jacob has been putting in additional work outside of practice maximizing his strength & conditioning with an emphasis on focusing on his studies. He understands that being a point guard, he has to lead by example. Martin is a huge fan of the Big 12 conference.
Grant Mielak Grant Mielak 6'5" | SF Lincoln Southwest | 2022 State NE Small Forward • Sr. • 6’ 5″ • 180 lbs • Lincoln Southwest Silverhawks
Grant showed he shoots lights out. It seemed like every three-pointer he threw up went in. When the defense closes out, he puts the ball on the floor and gets to the rim for a lay-up or floater. Mielak plays with great poise. I loved watching him communicate with his teammates on offense and defense. He is a solid defensive rebounder that can push the ball up the court or give a great outlet pass. In a zone, he rotates very well. Grant is coachable and stellar in the classroom. You can trust him to be a leader on and off the court.
Jadyn Cascio Jensen Guard • Soph. • 6’ 2″ • 160 lbs • Bellevue West Thunderbirds
Jadyn is another combo guard that can pretty much do it all. Only a sophomore but able to pull up from NBA range off the dribble, with a hand in his face, or wide open. He can finish at the rim in traffic too. Cascio Jensen plays solid defense that tends to force a turnover for opposing guards. Jadyn is team-orientated and brings the kind of energy that is charismatic. He hasn’t even reached his full potential yet but is still super impressive when evaluated. “J-Cash” (nickname) is easy to coach, fun to be around, and has an honor roll GPA. Stay on the lookout for this young man.
