The first session will take place at U-Turn in Richmond with games starting at 1. There are 18 teams in the event, and will be two more sessions on 10/10 and 10/24 at U-Turn as well.
There are a lot of prospects to preview in the event, so stay tuned on Prep Hoops and if you can’t make it in person you can tune into the live stream on the CBG Live Network.
Here’s a look at part four of the many 2023 prospects that will be in attendance.
Leland Coleman Leland Coleman 6'6" | SF Trinity Episcopal | 2023 State VA | 6’5” WF | CBG Elite (Trinity Episcopal)
Coleman is set for a breakout season at Trinity Episcopal this year and he should turn some heads playing with CBG Elite 1 this weekend. He’s a budding prospect with good size and a 7 foot wingspan, he’s athletic and plays with a good motor on both ends of the floor and he has developed nicely with his shooting and ball handling. He’s also a very high academic student that could go to almost any school in the country.
Doyle Brown Doyle Brown 6'1" | SG Bethel Academy | 2024 State VA | 6’1” CG | CBG Elite (Centreville)
Brown played a big role in Centreville’s run to the state championship last year and he’s going to be the go-to guy and likely one of the top scorers in the NOVA area this year. The 6’1” combo guard can run the show but is also a talented shot maker, he sticks it from deep consistently with good range and he’s a tough nosed defender that can lock up the other team’s best player too.
CJ McPherson CJ McPherson 6'3" | SG Norfolk Collegiate | 2023 State VA | 6’3” WG | CBG Elite (Norfolk Collegiate)
McPherson is set to have a breakout season in the 757 after a big summer with Team Loaded 757 and he’ll have a chance to get on the radar of college coaches at the Fall Series this year. The 6’3” wing has a good frame and is very strong with the ball in his hands, he is a knock down shooter from deep that’s consistent and knows how to work off the ball to get open and he plays hard on both ends of the floor.
Evan Ramsey Evan Ramsey 7'0" | C Abingdon | 2023 State VA | 7’0” C | CBG Elite (Abingdon)
Ramsey is a budding prospect out of SWVA that will have a chance to really turn heads this weekend at the Fall Series after helping Abingdon to a state championship appearance as just a sophomore. There’s no teaching size and Ramsey is a legit 7 footer, but there’s more to just his size that makes him a big time prospect. He has good hands and good feet in the post and a strong frame that allows him to bang in the paint, he has good touch out to the three-point line and he competes on both ends of the floor and is very productive.
John St. Germain John St. Germain 6'2" | PG St. Anne's Belfield | 2023 State VA | 6’1” PG | CBG Elite (STAB)
St. Germain is one of the top floor generals in the entire state and has been an impact player in the Charlottesville boarding school scene since he was an eighth grader, and when it comes to skill sets there aren’t many guards that have what he has. He plays similar to the way that Andre Miller used to play as he has great change of speeds and directions, he’s a skilled shooter that can score it off the bounce from multiple levels and he has a great control of the game and is an excellent playmaker.
Davin Cosby | 6’4” WG | CBG Elite (Benedictine)
Cobsy was a breakout prospect in the summer racking up a number of division one offers as 2022 with John Marshall at DC Live, and now that he’s reclassified and transferred back to Benedictine he’ll see his stock increase even more moving forward. One of the best shooters in the state, Cosby is as confident as they come and is excellent at coming off of screens and knocking it down, he has very deep range and he’s improved off the bounce and as a finisher at the rim over the past few years.
Judah Egbo Judah Egbo 6'7" | C Life Christian Academy | 2023 State VA | 6’8” PF | CBG Elite (Life Christian Academy)
Another player who should see his recruitment sky rocket after announcing his reclassification to the 2023 class, Egbo has improved immensely over the past few years and should see college coaches jump all over him moving forward. A high motor and athletic big man, Egbo is able to dominate the paint with his ability to play above the rim on both ends, he runs the floor hard and he has improved in his timing and hands over the past few years.
