Bennett Basich Bennett Basich 6'3" | SG Arrowhead | 2024 State WI – 2024 – SG – Arrowhead
Expect Basich to be one of the bigger breakout players in the 2024 class. The sophomore guard was unstoppable against Milwaukee Bradley Tech, dropping a game-high 24 points. Basich shook off a cold spell early which included a couple of turnovers and you just saw a switch flip when he began playing a little more aggressively. Basich got downhill and nobody wanted to get in front of him. Basich is able to finish with either hand at the rim and is capable of taking a bump in mid-air. When he needs it, Basich has an efficient and smooth pull-up game.
Jack Campion Jack Campion 5'10" | PG Milton | 2022 State WI – 2022 – PG – Milton
Not sure what anybody else needs to see. Campion went at two top 10, Division 1 guards in the 2022 class and once again proved he belongs at the highest level. Against Brookfield Central, Campion dropped 18 points and 13 assists. The following game, Campion went for 19 points and five assists vs. Menomonee Falls. Campion can also make a case for being one of the most valuable players in the state. Pretty much everything Milton does runs through him and they likely won’t take him off the floor this season, if at all, when the game is in the balance. Campion has terrific court awareness and knows what all four of his teammates are doing. If he’s not scoring, the senior guard knows his teammates’ strengths and how to set them up for success.
Learic Davis Learic Davis 6'7" | SF Milwaukee Bradley Tech | 2022 State WI – 2022 – G/W- Milwaukee Bradley Tech
Always said if the skills catch up to Davis’ athleticism, he’s going to be a real problem. Well, that gap is definitely narrowing. Davis had 18 points in a loss to a quality Arrowhead squad. Davis was electric in the open floor, getting coast-to-coast in transition or breaking down his man off the dribble in the halfcourt and attacking the rim with ferocity. Davis is gaining more confidence in his jumper. The 6-foot-7 senior is starting to develop his tools as a shot creator and looked pretty good with his step-back jumper. Arguably no prospect in the state has as big of an upside as Davis given his athletic ability and versatility to play three positions.
Jack Daugherty Jack Daugherty 6'8" | PF Brookfield Central | 2024 State #311 Nation WI – 2024 – F – Brookfield Central
Daugherty added 14 points in Central’s win over Milton. A promising 6-foot-7 combo forward, Daugherty has a lot of tools to work with. Bigs tend to develop late, but Daugherty has a solid skill base already, including some tight handles for his size and a consistent outside shot. What intrigues me the most is his ability to serve different roles. You can see him being a pick n’ pop big man, an isolation combo forward, a stretch forward, and given that his dad is 6-foot-11, maybe even play the true center position as well. Daugherty is also a problem in transition. He can glide in the open floor and take the ball coast-to-coast if needed. Once he adds some strength and physicality to his frame, think Daugherty could be an absolute monster with mismatch nightmare potential, especially if he starts to make impact plays on the defensive end.
Terrance Mcclendon Terrance Mcclendon 6'3" Wauwatosa West | 2022 WI – 2022 – SG – Wauwatosa West
McClendon will be an x-factor for a very talented Tosa West squad this season. The Trojans have a lot of youth and not a lot of experience. They’ll rely on McClendon’s steady shot making. The senior had 12 points in a balanced effort for Tosa West, who ran away from Marquette. McClendon does a good job of feeding off dribble penetration, but he’s also comfortable creating his own looks in isolation settings. With so much shooting around him, McClendon can get 1-on-1 looks without defenders sitting in the gap and he likes to rise and fire off the dribble from 3-point and mid-range.
Brogan McIntyre Brogan McIntyre 6'5" | SF Milton | 2023 State WI – 2023 – SF – Milton
A sneaky good class of 2023 prospect, McIntyre has the potential to help push Milton to a conference title and/or a deep run in March. The 6-foot-3 wing seems to get more athletic every time we see him and can do some scary stuff in transition. McIntyre is also a reliable outside shooter that knows how to play off Campion’s drives and relocates off dribble penetration when his defender turns his head. Given his ability to slash, hit open 3’s, and run the floor hard in transition, McIntyre has a chance to be a very efficient scorer in Milton’s system and could have a couple of big games that just seem easy given the quality of looks he gets.
Andrew Rohde Andrew Rohde 6'6" | SG Brookfield Central | 2022 State WI – 2022 – SG – Brookfield Central
Rohde is in store for a monster senior season. The St. Thomas commit poured in 27 points and five assists during a come from behind win over Milton. The Lancers got down by 12 in the second half as Rohde just took over the game for the final 6-7 minutes. It was even more impressive considering he kind of got punched in the mouth early by Campion and had a rough first half shooting the ball. At 6-foot-5, Rohde can score in a variety of ways. He likes to take guards down on the block or face-up and shoot over the top in the mid-range. Rohde has some serious range as a shooter as well and with his length, there’s not much a defender can do to take him out of a rhythm if he wants to walk up the floor and pull it. Thought the difference in the game down the stretch though was Rohde’s passing. He had some dagger assists in the final minutes of the game to complete the comeback.
