Jordan Cain Jordan Cain 6'3" | SF Minnetonka | 2024 State MN of Minnetonka (2023 wing). I think Jordan Cain Jordan Cain 6'3" | SF Minnetonka | 2024 State MN is on the verge of a big step forward. In terms of what? Of being a top sophomore prospect AND being a key player for the Skippers. We saw Jordan prove a lot of that on Sunday against Prior Lake and East Ridge, especially in the first game against the Lakers. There wasn’t a player on the court that could physically move with Cain and keep him from a comfortable balanced look. He could be on the verge of a huge sophomore year and entering conversations with schools in terms of recruitment.
Miles Dillon-Parks of DeLaSalle (2023 wing). At about 6’3 or 6’4 and always active, Dillon-Parks had us needing to know who he was. He scored on a tip-in and then sprinted ahead of the defense for a score. Dillon-Parks also used his length to get a couple deflections and later forced a turnover with a steal leading to his own score. A junior that could help the Islanders this year.
Luke Jacobson Luke Jacobson 6'1" | SG Cretin-Derham Hall | 2023 State MN of Andover (2023 guard). One of the shiftiest players we saw this weekend was Luke Jacobson Luke Jacobson 6'1" | SG Cretin-Derham Hall | 2023 State MN , a six foot guard that scored 15 against the DeLaSalle defenders. His quick releasing three, the Luke Jacobson Luke Jacobson 6'1" | SG Cretin-Derham Hall | 2023 State MN extension after the step through, and the slick separation into a step-back confused a lot of defenders. If Jacobson continues to play this way that’s another dangerous Andover guard teams must deal with.
Jefferey Iwuchukwu of Park Center (2023 big). This 6’7 post played in the first game for PC and you can see that he has the size and potential to make an impact this year on JV and maybe at some point on varsity if needed. He’s a very strong post that moves well and when experience gives him a better feel for the game he will be a prospect to know.
Joshua Ofori Joshua Ofori 6'7" | PF Prior Lake | 2023 State MN of Prior Lake (2023 forward). Every time I looked up today I felt like Joshua was either on a fast break with or without the ball and nearly every time he was at the rim making a play. It was my first time seeing him play with Prior Lake and based on what I saw today his 6’5/6’6 agile size should work great next to Malcolm Jones Malcolm Jones 6'9" | C Prior Lake | 2022 State MN . Ofori has a lot of potential and what he needs is playing time. I think he will get that this year.
Tyrell Sappington Tyrell Sappington 5'11" | PG Hopkins | 2022 State MN of Hopkins (2022 guard). Liked what Tyrell gave the Royals in the games I watched. He had five assists in the game against Park Center and when the ball was in his hands the team was able to move in the halfcourt and get quality shots on a consistent basis. Tyrell should be able to play a nice role for the Royals making some shots, running some point, and being a steady senior.
James Spencer James Spencer 6'6" | PF Park Center | 2022 State MN of Park Center (2022 big). James isn’t completely new but after sitting out last season after the transfer he’s new to many. The Pirates knocked off Hopkins 59-56 and Spencer played a huge part. He kept the ball out of the Hopkins post, James had ten rebounds, finished with three dunks, and his all around energy was crucial. Spencer doesn’t need the ball to make an impact, his screens, defense, and rebounding give his team what they need. And at 6’5/6’6 his paint activity will be huge for the Pirates this year.
