The Life Sophomore Guard Jahiem Faison: The best performance of the day went to this young man as he led his team to their first win of the season , scoring a game high of 26 Points and pulling down 10 Rebounds. He found his rhythm scoring the ball from multiple levels and was very active on the offensive boards which provided his team with extra scoring opportunities.
Team Patriots Sophomore Wing Jullien Cole: His 11 Point, 7 Rebound performance this weekend was his best game of the year and he will look to build on that as he attempts to help his team to make a deep playoff run. Standing at close to 6’4 with solid guard skills, it doesn’t take long to see why he’s such an intriguing prospect to keep an eye on.
Eagles Junior Wing Truman Claytor Truman Claytor 6'6" | SF New Life Christian | 2023 State NC : His team came up on the short end of this game but he put forth a valiant effort, scoring 21 Points and pulling down 6 Rebounds. He understands how to use his size/strength to get where he wants on the court and has the ability to guard multiple positions on defense.
Northside Junior Guard Masaun Bryant: He put on a scoring exhibition in the first half, finding his rhythm early and leading the team with 12 first half points. The lefty knocks down the trey ball with nice efficiency, beat players off the dribble to get to the basket, and didn’t allow himself to get rattled despite seeing several different defenders.
Team Rosehill Junior Guard Xavier Tubbs: Coming into the season he looked to take on more of a scoring role but as the season has progressed, he’s embraced facilitating to teammates more and focusing on being a lock down defender. In their matchup with the Westside he dished out 6 Assist as well as finishing with a game high of 3 steals.
Bucks Senior Forward Jermiah Melvin: Another player that didn’t score many points but made a huge impact with how well he was able to rebound the ball . He pulled down a season high of 13 rebounds which would help his team get the win over the previously ranked #2 Northside. He’s not the tallest player on the court by any means but his strength and motor allows him to make all the plays that sometimes get overlooked by the average fan but are needed for his team.
TCA Sophomore Guard Eli Arzuga: With his team looking for their first win of the season, he stepped up and provide some nice offense and scored a team high of 16 Points. He scored the ball in transition well, getting out on the break as soon as his team forced turnovers.
