Home to some of the biggest high schools in the state of Idaho, the 5A classification produces some of the best talent found anywhere in the country. Many players from this classification go on to have quite successful college careers and prove that Idaho can produce quality basketball players despite a small population of players within the state. As the 2021-22 season looks to get underway soon, a lot of great players should be highlighted on this list, but unfortunately, there is only room for a few players. Continue reading for a look at some of the top players to watch from the 5A classification in the state of Idaho.

Nate Cherry Nate Cherry 6'0" | SG Capital | 2022 State ID , Capital: Heading into his senior season of prep basketball, Cherry will look to make a big impact for Capital as they attempt to do some damage in their conference before making a run at the state championships in March. Nate has a great feeling for the game and has an excellent jump shot which he is able to use effectively from anywhere on the court. Nate can do it all from the guard position and will be lots of fun to watch this season.

Bayler Perrin Bayler Perrin 5'7" | PG Mountain View | 2022 State ID , Mountain View: Perrin has made a name for himself as a scorer who can get hot in a hurry and stay hot for the remainder of the game. Bayler has been working to improve his all around game and become a more well-rounded guard as opposed to only being a scorer. Perrin will use his senior year to show that he has what it takes to play at a high level and can do so night in and night out. Watch for Bayler to put up some big points throughout the upcoming season. Tyler Jacobson Tyler Jacobson 5'8" | PG Post Falls | 2023 State ID , Post Falls: Up north, the Trojans from Post Falls will be looking to make a big impact this season thanks to big improvements from Tyler. He has been working hard this summer to improve his all around game and he will be looking to help the program find some success again after some uncharacteristic down years. Tyler is a great guard who plays well on both ends of the floor and does not back down from any challenges.
