The players below have boosted their stock while heading into the high school season. Let’s take an in-depth look at who some of the prospects are.
Stock Risers in the 2025 Prospect Rankings
Presley Peraza Presley Peraza 6'6" | PF Kindred | 2025 State ND |6’4 F| Kindred/ECI Previous rank #8 New rank #2
He is long, athletic, bouncy, and he can hit the outside shot. It is rare for a freshman to be 6’4 and move the way Presley does. When I saw him this fall I was surprised how well he shot the 3-ball. His shot looked natural and smooth. He was also dunking in traffic against upperclassman. He is not just a back-to-the-basket player, Peraza can play on the wing and attack off the bounce. Presley is an exciting prospect that college coaches will want to see play.
Drew Kempel Drew Kempel 6'3" | PG Bismarck Century | 2025 State ND |6-1 G| Bismarck Century/ECI Previous rank #12 New rank #5
I saw him at the 250 Expo in Sioux Falls and Drew stood out right away. I had to do a double-take and make sure he was in the 2025 class. Drew is more physical and athletic when you compare him to most of the other guards in this class. His handles are as good as I have seen for his age. Drew can cross people up and make defenders stumble. I like his game best when he is attacking and getting 2 feet in the lane.
Wyatt Kuhn Wyatt Kuhn 6'5" | SF New Salem/Almont | 2025 State ND |6-4 F| New Salem-Almont Previous rank #13 New rank #10
His size, strength, and physical ability are what have Kuhn ahead of other players. Wyatt also has a top-notched spin move that he uses to break free from defenders for open looks. Kuhn can score on the block, putbacks, attacking off the bounce, or with 15-foot jumpers. His scoring is nice but his defense and rebounding potential is what is really intriguing. I am excited to see NSA play this season and see how Kuhn has developed over the offseason.
Ramsey Walz Ramsey Walz 6'7" | PF Bishop Ryan | 2025 State #313 Nation ND |6-3 F| Minot Bishop Ryan/ECI Previous rank #36 New rank #11
I like his shooting ability from beyond the arc and the problems that will give opposing BIGS when they have to guard him outside. Walz might be 6’3 but he plays bigger and his arms are extra long. At the 250 Expo, he did not back down from bigger or older post players. Over the summer with ECI Ramsey improved his defense and rebounding which will be very important once he gets high school minutes. His aggressiveness and all-around skill have been impressive.
Noah Meissner Noah Meissner 6'1" | CG Jamestown | 2025 State ND |5-11 SG| Jamestown/ECI Previous rank #15 New rank #14
He is an exciting young guard in a high-quality program and he will no doubt continue to improve his craft. Noah is athletic with a quick first step that will get him by many defenders. When it comes to scoring, Noah is versatile and he can score from all 3-levels. Meissner is a good defender for his age, he has the potential to be a great defender in the future.
Karter Peterson Karter Peterson 6'6" | PF Thompson | 2025 State ND |6-3 G/F| Thompson/ND Attack Previous rank #27 New rank #21
He has the potential to be a big-time scorer. This summer with ND Attack, Karter had some huge games scoring the ball. He has some throwback crafty moves from the block. Today’s defenders do not know how to guard them because you rarely see them anymore. Karter can also get the job done from beyond the arc. For a youngster, he is already a gifted shot blocker. Thompson is going to be fun to watch this season.
Jack Shaffer Jack Shaffer 6'7" | PF Bismarck | 2025 State ND |6-5 F| Bismarck/ND Phenom Previous rank #28 New rank #22
His height, size, and toughness are exciting. Jack gives great effort and will improve in coach Wilhelm’s program. He won’t see varsity minutes like some of these smaller school kids but Jack will have a great season. He will get challenged every day in practice and will compete against great competition no matter what level he plays at.
Karson Ouse Karson Ouse 6'8" | SF Kindred | 2025 State #283 Nation ND |6-5 G/F| Kindred/ECI Previous rank #29 New rank #28
This program is already loaded with long and athletic players. Now you add in Karson and it does not seem fair for one school to have this much size. Ouse is long and he has heaps of ability. Karson can play point guard, shooting guard, wing, or small forward. His handles are very fine and he is tough going to the basket. If you said Karson has potential, it would be an understatement.
Aric Winczewski Aric Winczewski 6'2" | CG Minot | 2025 State ND |5-8 G| Minot/ECI Previous rank #30 New rank #29
This spring Aric was mainly a shooter. Now he has a well-rounded game and he can get it done in multiple ways. Winczewski gives great effort and his motor never stops. He is a tough defender, which is no surprise because of who his coach is. When you add together skills, effort, drive, and high IQ you are going to get a great player.
JB Walters JB Walters 6'4" | PF Grand Forks Red River | 2025 State ND |6-3 F| Grand Forks Red River/ECI Previous rank #34 New rank #33
Look for him to be a beast in the EDC this year at the freshmen level or sophomore. With his strength and understanding of the game, I would bet he would fit right in at the JV level as well. With Walters’s effort, toughness, and grit you can only assume good things will happen when it comes to his basketball game. I am betting JB improves by leaps and bounds this year at a big school like Red River. They will be battling every day in practice.
Nolan Weidner Nolan Weidner 6'2" | SG Dickinson | 2025 State ND |5-8 G| Dickinson/ND Attack Previous rank #37 New rank #36
Dickinson has a boatload of shooters in their program. With Nolan, they just added another one. Wiedner can drill it from 3-point land. Nolan also has clean ball skills. Over the course of the AAU season with ND Attack Nolan became or more mature player and his decision-making improved.
Parker Brodina Parker Brodina 6'4" | SG Devils Lake | 2025 State ND |6-1 F| Devils Lake/ECI Previous rank #38 New rank #37
He shot the ball well over the spring/summer with ECI. Parker can score quickly from the outside. Brodina has a polished overall game and he loves to compete. It will be interesting to see what level he plays this year at DL. Whatever level he plays, look for Parker to keep improving.
