The 6-foot-4 shooting guard has sky-rocketed up major recruiting services. Allen is one of many reasons why Calvary Christian Academy is one of the best teams in the state.
Who could push Allen for that spot?
Let’s take a look…
Carl Cherenfant Carl Cherenfant 6'4" | CG Ft. Lauderdale Calvary Christian | 2023 State #68 Nation FL – Calvary Christian Academy (PH. 6)
Picking Cherenfant or Allen is like choosing between Kevin Durant or Giannis Antetokounmpo. I don’t think you could go wrong with either player. Both are top 10 prospects with high-major offers. Cherenfant is a fantastic at getting to the basket. His shooting is only improving and morphing him into an impossible guard. Calvary Christian Academy has national aspirations and both can handle the challenge.
Nate Sasser Nate Sasser 6'6" | SG Suncoast | 2023 State #207 Nation FL – Suncoast (PH. 10)
A 6-foot-6 shooting guard? Sasser has multiple qualities that put him in position to rise. I think he’s a difficult matchup at the two when you combine his elite athleticism and length. Any sort of shooting efficiency and it’s lights out. Sasser can also hybrid as a forward given his size. He simply has an edge at the high school level.
Jaylen Carey Jaylen Carey 6'8" | PF Westminster Academy | 2023 State #129 Nation FL – Westminster Academy (PH. 15)
Personally, I have a high grade on Jaylen Carey Jaylen Carey 6'8" | PF Westminster Academy | 2023 State #129 Nation FL . He’s north of 6-foot-8 and roughly 235 pounds. Carey might have the biggest advantage in terms of a one-on-one matchup. Not many players have his footwork and elusiveness around the paint. Carey is durable and can shoot beyond ten feet. I think the sky is the limit for him.
Justin Johnson Justin Johnson 6'7" | PF Doral | 2023 #229 Nation FL – Doral Academy
Similar to Sasser, Johnson has versatility in a halfcourt setting. The 6-foot-7 prospect can hybrid as a guard/forward. Johnson can score off the dribble and use his length to shoot over defenders. He might eventually settle out as a forward. He holds an offer from Georgetown.
Jasai Miles Jasai Miles 6'5" | CG Miami Country Day | 2023 State #241 Nation FL – Miami Country Day
Jasai Miles Jasai Miles 6'5" | CG Miami Country Day | 2023 State #241 Nation FL is super talented and helped the Spartans to a deep run in the Class 3A state tournament last season. The 6-foot-5 combo guard has upside in the backcourt. I could see him being a solid shooting guard with better efficiency. Miles already has plenty of handle and scoring ability off the dribble. I don’t see him being contested in this area very often.
Greg Spate Greg Spate 6'6" | PG West Oaks | 2023 State FL – Coral Springs (PH. 28)
Is Greg Spate Greg Spate 6'6" | PG West Oaks | 2023 State FL being overlooked by the bigger names in Broward County? The 6-foot-6 point guard really grew his game over the summer and is prime for a big high school season. I think Spate is becoming a well-rounded backcourt prospect. I would say his feel and awareness for the position has improved. Spate is already a D-1 prospect with a recent offer from Chicago State. I’m interested to see how far up the D-1 ladder he can get.
