Elias Kiritsy, Boston Warriors, Newton South Position combo guard, Class Sophomore
Elias Had a standout weekend for the Warriors. Elias played very well on the defensive end, and showed his versatile defense guarding positions 2-4. Elias was tasked with defending guards, and players who were as tall as 6’6. Elias who is a sharp shooter, got his shot going right away in the first game of the tournament knocking down tough shots. Elias was just getting started as in the second game Elias had three three pointers, and a couple of layups. The warriors played a high level team in the second game against the Spartans 2025 team. Elias did a great job shooting over taller, and longer defenders, and showed his strong skills to score over taller players. Playing a high level team, you have to move without the ball well. Elias showed his great off ball movement. The Spartans were playing high pressure defense, but that did not look like it fazed Elias at all, as he was very strong with the ball, and showed his good handles against the defensive pressure. In third game Elias did really well holding his own, against taller back to the basket players. Elias really was hot from three knocking down 5 three pointers. Elias hit a lot of big shots with the score going back and forth. After They realized that Elias was a sharp shooter Elias had to find other way to score. Elias had to look to drive and move without the ball. Elias knocked down a lot of tough three pointer with a hand in face, and with the defensive playing very tight on him. With this performance, Elias was named the Zero Gravity player of the game. Elias is a player who can impact the game in many ways, and take his game to high levels.
Geo Baker, New Hampshire Spartans,
Geo had a very impressive performance this weekend. Geo was all over the floor on the defensive end of the floor. Geo played great on ball pressure defense, and also did a great job reading and anticipating the offensive moves. Geo forced a ton of turnovers, and had one game where he had a super impressive 9 steal game. Geo also impacted the game on the offensive side, making a lot of tough contested layups through contact. Geo can to the basket, and handle the ball well. Geo had a strong weekend, notably on defense. Geo is athletic and has a good skill set. I expect Geo to continue to raise his stock this fall AAU season.
Anthony Chin, New England Storm, Class Junior
Anthony had a high level weekend on both ends of the floor. Anthony is an athletic playmaker, and showed that this weekend making many plays, and do a great job creating his own shot. Anthony showed his shooting, and finishing skills. Anthony also did well getting his teammates involved, making a lot of good passes leading to open shots. Anthony played above the rim, and had some big fast break dunks. Anthony worked very hard on the defensive side, playing tough defense, guarding other high level players. Anthony had some big blocks in the game. He made a lot of big stops to help lead his team to wins. Anthony is a player that coaches should take note of, and has a ton of upside to his game. He is showing how his game will translate well to the next level.
