As we embark on a new school year this September in Western Pennsylvania, a good amount of student-athletes have transferred to other school districts. While making the decision to transfer for better academic opportunities or family situations, these players look to continue their high-level performance on the court as well. Hopefully, the new surroundings for these young men of WPIAL teams will bring a different perspective that will prepare them for their future endeavors.

With state guidelines declaring student-athletes ineligible for postseason play if they transfer after their sophomore year of high school, a growing number of appeals will soon be heard by the board of directors. As some of these situations develop across the Pittsburgh area, it will be quite interesting to observe the process over the next few months. Here at Prep Hoops PA, we will continue to follow these talented players at their current high schools.
